Couldn't get the hotel reservation in Chicago on Friday Night, so my friend and I are going to the Brand New show on Friday night, driving an hour home, then driving back to Chicago the next day.

I'll be seeing: Dr Dog, Steel Train, Brand New, Okkervil River, Broken Social Scene, and Rage.

The Racentours were great, if Radiohead had not played yesterday they would have been the best show. The Cool Kids were a ton of fun. Bloc Party was alright, The Black Keys were really good. Cat Power sounded great and Duffy was 'meh'. VHS Or Beta DJ set was a good time. The Go! Team and The Kills were so-so. Good day. Can't wait for today.

I left to go see wilco after the second time they stopped because people were getting hurt. I'm glad I did because Wilco is amazing. I also loved that during Brand New's set Jesse said "this song is called Bomb Track" and then went into you won't know.

at the end of YWK, Jesse was going crazy and chucked the guitar right into the drum kit, nearly rocking his fellow bandmate in the face

Oh well, time to get out of the AT&T lounge and back to Lolla. Black Kids are the next band I'm looking forward to.

Okay just got back today from Chicago, I had no internet at The Palmer House Hilton so I will give you a run down of my festival experiance
This was my first time at Lollapalooza so I was excited obiviously, I skipped the early edition on friday to go to a cubs game and I got in time for The Black Keys they sounded really good, I heard Cat Power she didnt sound to bad I dont listen to her music much to know if it was good or not. Raconteurs were amazing!! I loved them they had a great set Jack White was really good. I do not know their set list so if anyone has it please let me know. And Radiohead was amazing!! I got in the back unfortunatly but they were soo good I loved their set list so much. Saturday I saw Margot and The Nuclear So and So's They were really good, Innerpartysystem was fun! I was surprised how many people were there. MGMT blew my mind! So many people there I loved them I am going to have to listen to them more. Lupe was great and Rage was intense I got so close for them then had to step back cause I was like fuck this, I also saw Party of Brand New and Explosions in the Sky, explosions was really good. Sunday I saw What Made Milwauke Famous they sounded good, The Whigs and Chromeo really impressed me, Nicole Adkins and the Seas were okay, her voice is good though. Saul Williams was really good I mean that was my first time hearing him and I got into it it was fun. Girl Talk was crazy fun! I had a blast I got the front row for him and I was just blown away by it, They bent the stage, he got on a raft and went in the crowd most fun ever and Kanye Blew my mind. I heard Wilco was great! and So was Broken Social Scene. So if you have BSS let me know I would love to hear it. And how was NIN? I heard it was crazy

SandManTEND13

NIN had a sicker light show than Radiohead's. I wish I knew more of their stuff, but I loved every second of it.

Manchester Orchestra was awesome, and so was Girl Talk. John Butler Trio had to be one of my favorite performances of the weekend.

And as much I hated that Brand New's set was short, You Won't Know was fucking insane. He did a somersault during the guitar solo, and chucked his guitar and broke the amp at the end. I don't understand why he was so pissed off? SO many people were there for their performance. I wish Andy Hull could've came out and sang a song with them...he was chillin in back during the set. But question: why the fuck do they have to use 2 bass guitarrists live? or even two drum sets? I understand for a song or so, but at Lolla the bass was just so overpowering. I love the lead guitar in Degausser and you could BARELY hear it. The first song sounded awesome, and then something went wack with the sound.

You Won't Know was amazing, but I thought for sure he was gonna hit Brian with his guitar when he threw it, that was a close call. I think honestly Jesse just either doesn't get that Brand New have a lot of fans or he just pretends that they don't. I loved the two drums, but I agree that two bass guitarists was over the top.

The sound at that stage just sucked in general. It would get loud and quiet and then loud again.

well at lollapalooza there were people backstage that went up with him, but some kids I think tried to jump the barrier and get on stage but the security caught some kids. But yeah most of the people had VIP and shit which really pissed me off. Yeah I am seeing him in November in Louisville its gonna be a badass time. If I were you and you wanted to get up on stage get to the show early so you are near the stage cause usually if your in the front you can get on stage

I actually took it down myself. :) I just couldn't remember someone of the song titles at the time.

Dude, how many oft he same shows have we been at now? Lol

Me and my friend where talking about people we can see a possible headliners next year and we couldn't think of anyone but Weezer is someone I can defenitly being the headliner, that would be awesome. And The White Stripes, if they have a new out or coming by then. I'd love if Bright Eyes and/or Conor played, they'd be a top billed act. If The Arcade Fire plays I will shit a brick.

I too was thinking of The White Stripes! Haha I usually always take the setlists I post up. 95% of them.

There is no chance Jack Johnson wioll headline Lolla '09. He will be back on his hiatus or whatever he calls them. And I highly doubt Metallica would play Lolla. I really do. I wish Daft Punk would be there next year but i know they won't be.

TMS2787

Also, it seems to me that Lolla has had a pretty big band from the main "scene" that is covered on this website (no, I'm not say AP.net has anything to do with Lolla) the last two years. '07 being Jack's Mannequin and this year being Brand New. I could see Thrice or Circa Survive playing next year.

The Snake The Cross The Crown would be great also.

SandManTEND13

I see Coldplay as a long shot. They are currently doing a very lengthy US Tour that has already hit Chicago this past Monday at the United Center and I just don't think they will be touring anymore on Viva by time Lolla '09 rolls around. And if they are they won't play on Friday, they'd probably play against someone on the Bud Light stage. Same goes with the Foo Fighters, plus I strongly dislike them so I hope they are not there.

Jay-Z on the other hand was a name I threw out there when talking about headliners next year and I'd love that.

Weezer/The White Stripes/Jay-Z and tow other headliners would be amazing..

If Weezer would headline next year, that would be amazing.
