Signs of Hope - Choices Made
Record Label: Detonate Records
Release Date: July 22, 2008

Who?

A hardcore/punk quintet who have shared stage with Hatebreed, Bury Your Dead, Glassjaw, and more, as well as touring the United States multiple times and, most recently, playing Europe. After putting out their debut full-length, First and Foremost, last year, they're back with Choices Made, a five song EP that clocks in at under ten minutes.

How is it?

The music is pretty typical for a modern hardcore band influenced by the youth crew movement. The melodic guitars, gang vocals, and affirmative lyrics give it an undeniable posi sound, but they also throw in a couple mosh parts for good measure. I'm sure this band is a fan favorite in their home state of Connecticut, but there are plenty of other bands doing the same thing that have been around longer and doing it better. Still, it's a good disc for anyone looking for some quick positive hardcore this summer.

It's called a "once over" review, usually used for shorter releases from lesser known bands.
