i don't know, i only started listening to them about two years ago and even with their last album i don't think they ever got much major push at all. even on that ridiculous straylight run / rooney tour. i love straylight and i used to be a big rooney fan, but the second i found out about that tour i laughed.

anyway, it sucks. i'll be waiting to hear about side projects.

I think they were just getting into different stuff. Daniel Brummel (the bassist/lead singer) is playing folk music right now as one of his sideprojects. The breakup is surprising but it makes sense.
