Really that's weird? It actually made perfect sense. It's just a man telling a girl a fairy tale and the film goes back and forth with the story and real life, but not in a confusing way at all. It's pretty simple and the film is beautiful. The acting is great too.

She was fantastic. I read online that Tarsem made her and the rest of the cast and crew think Lee Pace was an actual paraplegic so they would have genuine reactions to him, especially the little girl and her interaction and dialogue with him.

When did it come out? That's unfortunate I missed it, usually I'm right on the indie film radar. Dammit.

Would you recommend buying it even without seeing it? My fear from the trailer is that it'll be like Pan's Labyrinth, in that the trailer advertises this awesome and epic fantasy tale, and then the majority of the film is unfortunately based in the reality and gravity of the tormenting world around the protagonist. I'm all for a good film like that, but not when it is advertised to focus mostly on fantasy.

It came out limited in May, it was only playing in one theater in jersey.

I think it has a great balance of both. I can see why it was limited cause it's not for everyone, but I personally thought it was very well done and a very entertaining movie.
