I'll post it tomorrow night.
I don't know a lot of songs by their names, though.

I went to the show last night. The Dear Hunter and Lydia were so good. It was my first time seeing Lydia but i've seen the Dear Hunter a few times now and they never disappoint. They even played 2 new "nameless" songs.

Do you know what songs they played?

I'm going tonight too! I'm so excited! TDH is always amazing, seen them a few times, and pumped to see Lydia :)

Hoping for some Red Hands and (this is such a stretch) His Hands Matched His Tongue.

This is as much as I can recall of the Dear Hunter's set (* means in order it was played):

*New Song
The Church and the Dime
City Escape
The Inquiry of Ms. Teri
The Lake and the River
The Oracles on the Delphi Express
The Procession
New Song
*Red Hands
*The Pimp and the Priest

I probably missed some/screwed some up but i'm very confident that is most of their set from last night. They went on around 10:15 and weren't done until 11:30, they only stopped twice and that was for just a few seconds so it was a pretty solid set.

I grabbed the set list from last night. However, it's in my sister's car right now and she's at work. I'll post exactly what the set list was later tonight. I do remember that there were some tracks starred, which they did not play. They starred 2 songs for the encore, which they decided not to do. :-( They were Black Sandy Beaches and Smiling Swine. There were also 2 starred songs around the middle of the set which said His Hands and Cover.

I was REALLY hoping to hear Black Sandy Beaches, that's one of my favorites from Act II. It was a little disappointing there was no encore...but that's the Living Room for you.

That show in Wilton just now was fucking RIDICULOUS. We got an encore, and they did two songs. First, Casey played "His Hands Matched His Tongue," just alone, and then the whole group played Smiling Swine. Fucking INSANE. They played a new one, then up through The Bitter Suite in order, then played City Escape, The Inquiry of Ms Terri, Red Hands, The Pimp and the Priest. Mixed in after City Escape was another new song, I forget exactly where it was. But that song, oh man. That song was FUCKING INSANE. I can't even express how good. Then the encore. It was ridiculous. So good.

Yea, I was rather disappointed. I heard they were playing 45 minutes sets on this tour (so I was expecting maybe 9-10 songs). However, it was about a 30 minute set. Hopefully they play a longer set tomorrow with no local opener scheduled to play.

i'd love to see carolina heat on here, but that's still a good set.
i love that new song, "just a little bit" it is so catchy.

i'm still debating if i want to go to this tour or not....i would mainly go for YMAEWK and i only know a few songs by the dear hunter...i've read nothing but good reviews though about the shows.

They played Carolina Heat tonight in Greensboro, but they said they never usually play it. This was my 2nd time seeing YM&EWK and I think they did really well musically but the singer seemed a bit cocky/drunk/something tonight which was a little off-putting. Both times I've seen them the singer doesn't seem to acknowledge the audience at all which sort of bugs me a bit. I like feeling like I'm at a show, not watching a band play for themselves only.

DEFINITELY GO see this tour. Seriously, the lineup is really good. Lydia was amazing as was The Dear Hunter, of course. You will enjoy it even if you haven't heard much of their stuff. I've taken lots of TDH newbies to their shows and all of them left as big fans (even going so far as to buy all their albums at the shows).

I'm not sure what to make of Eye Alaska. They had a couple of songs that I really enjoyed but they also had some that sounded straight out of The Backstreet Boys or some other boy band type r&b, that didn't do it for me but they still were very good, that's just not my thing.

Eye Alaska is pretty good. Before I bought the EP I thought they were a band that had really mellow relaxing songs with piano but then some songs came on that did sound Backstreet Boy-ish and I was like ''....okayyyy'' haha. I'm seeing this show on Sunday so I'm wondering how they will sound live.

I *think* (am not 100% sure) we got the same set list last night, and we as well did not get any of the starred items. By the way, who are the new guys in the band, does anyone know? Where did they come from? I have to say it was a much much tighter show than when ATAL filled in. The new guys are fantastic.

I was planning on taking the four hour drive up to Orlando for this tour to see Lydia and YMAEWK... I'm kind of disappointed that Lydia's is so short. And I didn't know that YMAEWK didn't do "Carolina Heat" live, that's my favorite.

Then maybe you should have stayed after YMAEWK and you might have liked Lydia or The Dear Hunter as well. Sorry, but it is extremely disrespectful to do that.

Edit: Dammit, I just looked at your picture and you have a Monty hoodie on. We're family and I can't be angry at you.

Lydia played acoustically tonight, because their van had broken down, and some of the band had to stay to get it fixed. I was nervous, because I didn't know how it would sound, but i decided it was good, because not many people get to see them unplugged. Here's the set list from the show:

fine evening for a rouge
stay awake
this is twice now
Bright Eyes Cover-Lets not shit ourselves (to be loved)
All I See
I woke up near the sea
always move fast
one more day

it was wonderful. leighton played alone on most of the songs, except always move fast, one more day, and fine evening for a rouge. :)

i dont really see how that's disrespectful. i had a 2 hour drive home ahead of me and they didnt tstart until 9:30 and had surgery to go in for the next day...AND i dont particurally like them, so i didnt see any reason to stay.

You didn't say that. All you said before was that you left because the only band you like is YMAEWK. When you have a reason, and a good one at that, it's different.

And I was just trying to say in less words that Casey's music is probably an influence to MAI and you might've liked what you heard... I've seen MAI nearly 20 times in 3 years, so they can take the time they need to write a new full length.

haha. i didn't think that i needed to explain every reason why i left to a bunch of strangers on a board, hence why i didn't explain it all the first time.

and i have given both of the bands a chance, listening to them on CD and stuff, and wasn't anything special to me. it's not like they sound anything like monty..

and damn, i just realized you're from providence. lucky! i've only gotten around to seeing them about five times...which were all in 2007. of course i want them to not rush the full length...it just sucks that they said they'd be out in "marchuary", which never happened. haha. i can't wait for that to be released, and i also can't wait for them to get back on the road! they're my favorite live band, so i miss that.

So let me get this straight. I pay 15+ dollars to go to the tour to see a band I want to see, and I don't feel like staying to see the headliner that I may or may not enjoy. You're telling me I'm supposed to waste time (and money-- time is money) sitting there hoping I like the headlining band.. when I could just go home and do what I want to do?

Who are you to say what I do with my time, and judge the way I choose to use it?

PS. When I went to this tour, I left after YMAEWK. I live 20 minute from the venue, and all I did when I got home was throw on some music and play video games.
