he was performing live in front of thousands of kids.
he's never played an even really decent show before this.

Apparently you all have never heard Anthony sing live, it's might be worse than Cove. The new recorded version of this song is amazing, and that was Cove. It sounds to me on the mp3 that he couldn't even hear himself singing and if you can't hear yourself, you're pretty much fucked.

i haven't heard anthony live, and i'm willing to give this kid the benifit of the doubt..it was only the screaming that put me off anyway...

I don't think there's such a thing as screaming lessons.

most guys in "hardcore" bands get singing lessons...it helps them carry the voice without ruining their throat...

So you are telling me there's voice teachers out there who teach people how to scream without damaging their vocals chords? And hardcore vocalists get lessons from them?

Even if this was true, and if it is pardon my ignorance, if someone damages their vocal chords screaming, the sreaming wouldn't necessarily sound bad, right?

I know of a few singers who have vocal coaches, but none of them are in hardcore bands such as Jason Gleason and the dude from Gatsby's American Dream.

ya there are, and ya it would (ruin the vocal chords, making it sound like crap and possibly not being able to scream/sing)

Holy shit that was fucking terrible. F-U-C-K-I-N-G terrible. Sounds like a dude on American Idol trying to audition with a Saosin song.

I think I'm done with this band....but I'll see how the record sounds before that

yeah, I heard it this morning and it sounds like absolute trash. I can't force myself to ever listen to it again bc it actually depresses me. here is beau's (guitarist/producer) response:

ok, so here is my take on the matter.

in the studio he kicks ass. he sings great. pretty much perfect. way better than anthony. and much easier to work with.

i remember that show. the first day of warped tour. our first day playing in like 6 months. cove sang bad, and we were sloppy. just a bad show in general. cove was extremely nervous going out there. keep in mind, it was his first show with us, and he is playing to 700 kids at warped tour.
i would have been just as nervous he was. and, because we were all nervous, we were playing the song like a million miles per hour. haha, so that made it harder for him too.

we wouldnt put someone in front of us who we think sings like crap. he did great in the 3 practices we had with him. nerves are a funny thing.

i have a recording of him at san diego that he sings really well on. i will try to post it in the next couple days.

but ya, i agree, it was a bad show for all of us. it will take some time before whoever we get to sing for us, becomes comfortable being in front of you guys.

but whoever we end up getting, cove, or whoever he may be, it will be a decision that we are proud of and that will take some getting used to by everyone.

we love our music and we will not settle for someone we dont believe in.

so, this being said, thank you to everyone who continues to support us, and we are almost done with the new record. its turning out amazing. i am stoked. its got something for everyone.

peace,

beau

I listened to it once and my jaw dropped. Myf riend came to my hosue today and told me to play it again and I actually had to sit in my bathroom and turn on the faucet so I woudlnt be able to hear it again. It actually depressed me...like seriously.

BTW- saosin has a headlining tour in October and Cove is DEF in the band. Regardless of what anyone says, this is true. It's been confirmed and just hasnt been released yet. There is also another piece of HUGE info that i was sworn to secrecy about, just wait...this band will blow up a lot sooner than you think as a result of this "info". The new stuff also sounds great and you guys are in for a suprise once it comes out.

I cannot bring msyelf to agree with this at all. I thought Anthony did a superb job live and NEVER EVER EVER once have i heard anthony even come close to butchering a saosin song this bad. I tihnk most people would agree with me.

Man I was kinda hoping it would be news that Beau will make a rap album. :(

i couldn't listen to more than a few second of that before i had to turn it off. i'm not suprised though. if it's the kid's first big show then i don't blame him. the first time i ever played a show i swear to god i forgot how to play drums. not good. being overly nervous can completely cancel out any talent you have. i say once this guy gets used to shows with large amounts of people like this, he'll do a lot better. plus the band playing the song WAY too fast didn't help much either. whatever. give them time.
