even as a progressive/liberal atheist i have taken issue with his blind support of peta an organization that knowingly and willingly supports funding crime and criminal activists. they have donated over $150,000 to activists that blow up animal testing clinics and banks were the clinic owners hold accounts. peta pays no federal taxes because it files as a non-profit organization that agrees to conduct themselves lawfully. they make no mistake in letting people know their position on their blatent disreguard for federal tax policies. just listen to what Bruce Friedrich, an activist politician who has become a spokesman of sorts for peta. check out this sound byte http://www.consumerfreedom.com/downloads/reference/audio/010501_bruce_friedrich.wav
now dont get me wrong im all for people standing up for what they truely believe in and I think friedrich should be proud for doing so. however, i find it irresponaible for a cannidate or anyone for that matter to support an organization such as peta. an organiztion that claims to represent people who are fed up with the lack of animal rights, the economy and the general lack of progressive representation in the executive branch. yet goes behinds its donators backs and launders their monies and takes advantage of federal tax incentives by funding and support criminals.
i also dont think its fair to ap readers to have tim rant about how 9/11 and marginalize the issue by saying "[the middle east] decided to push back.". either he wasnt given enough time to respond to the question or he lacks a full understanding of the complexity of the issue behind the region. afganistan as a country was not out to get us. al queda and terrorist networks that were funded and had arms supplied to them by our government were responsible for 9/11. saudi arabia were learning more and more is not only a haven for terrorism but a possible funder of many of al quedas operations. we have iraq where in fallujah and najaf our troops spill blood and bile to secure areas that many see as lost causes. were finding out all along our allies were being bribed by hussien in the oil for food program. and we havent even started talking about the most on going issue in the middle is which is the age old battle over the gaza strip. the reality is the middle east is a nightmare right now. we have trouble on 3 fronts. yet we have people like tim who talk about the middle east like this united force with in which we are fighting organized and tactical battles against. his lack of respect for the complexity for a lot of these issues is alarming. it seems his answer is to stick it to the right wing and do the complete opposite just for the sake of "we think their position is stupid.". i dont think the interview had any redeeming responses. anyone whos watched the news or had a politcal debate latley knows the same red meat this guy is throwing. they have heard the talking points from both major political parties, they dont need them to turn trite. where are the musicans with a real insight to politics, someone who understand whats actually going on. someone that backs a consumer protecion organization, or is a alternative energy source lobbyist, or someone that has some sort of financial knowledge that talks about a balanced budget bill? where are these people? why aren't they in bands being interview here? perhaps someone like Chris Martin of cold play that advocates free trade organizations. who knows. all i see here is rhetoric from someone that at the end of reading their responses makes you wonder if he has any real knowledge of the issues he's "against" ... even his band rise AGAINST. i wanna know what he's FOR! besides the criminals in peta. is it too much to ask?

This is the extremist stuff I was referring to. He side stepped the question. But if he really does support the kind of stuff that Friedrich was talking about, that's very ridiculous.

Maybe it's because you come across as a condecending asshole who doesn't know anything about the band's music every time you interview one.

he never insulted jamison at all, he just said "you come off as an ass hole". Its much different than actually calling someone one. Me on the other hand, i don't like Jamison at all and I think he's a fairy based on the stuff he says, especially in interviews. I wish you could convince him to leave this site and join the knifeparty.com staff.
