Green Day (http://www.greenday.com) will be playing a few club dates prior to their full tour with New Found Glory (http://www.newfoundglory.com):

September 16th: Los Angeles, CA - Henry Fonda
September 18th: Chicago, IL - The Vic
September 21st: New York, NY - Irving Plaza
September 24th: Toronto, Ont - Phoenix Theatre

Holy shit the nintendo fusion tour now this!!!!!!!!!!!!! Green Day at the Phoenix!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's incredible that's a small intimate venue. Wow!!! i'm stoked to no end!!! I wonder if this means they're not going to come up here to Canada for the full tour...hmmmm....

OMIGOD!! After listening to Green Day for close to 10 years I've only gotten the chance to see them once, and that was with Blink and surrounded by 20,000 other kids...The Vic in Chicago only holds 1400 people!! This is quite possibly the best day ever.

First there is greenday's "we're making a album, not a album full of singles" stance, Which is exactly what blink said a year ago.

and now they're getting back there 'street cred' by playing a small venue tour ala dolla bill tour from blink. la la la.

I'm the one who submitted this news late last night so you can only imagine how stoked I was. I'm going to be watching for the date tickets go on sale like a hawk, because this might just be my last chance to see Green Day in a smaller venue. I could care less about that other tour so long as I get to see Green Day at the Vic.

Um...most bands do something like that later in their careers, it was nothing new with Blink.

And Green Day has played club tours before every album except International Superhits. This is actually the first time they are just doing JUST a few dates, rather than an entire tour.

And I'm gonna try for a road trip to Chicago.

green day will never need to 'copy' blink 182. without green day, there wouldn't BE blink 182. and green day is two words, thank you.

I knew I was moving to Chicago for a reason.

Are shows at The Vic usually 18+ or all ages? How do you usually get tickets for shows at this venue?

Green Day. New Found Glory may have gained some popularity here in the last few years, but they are nowhere near as big as Green Day or Blink 182.
