imagine having your best friend move across the country, to the opposite coast (from NJ to california) when you lived that close.
2 miles, ride a bike, have your parents take you. youll get through it. none of my best friends live close to me anymore.

Try moving countries from the only person who loves you for all you are?
Yeah its tough, but what doesnt kill you makes you stronger, (yeah a little clique but hey!) You guys`ll get through it if you are as good friends as you say. But dude all I can say is, I know how you feel!

2 miles is nothing.
You can easily ride a bike, walk, or whatever.

My one friend moved all the way to Arizona. ( I live in New York ) It's bad because I probably won't get to see her anymore. At least with the two mile difference between you and your friend, you guys have a chance. You could set up a night once a month that you go out and do something together. So you don't lose that connection. You can call them and whatnot too. Just because they aren't next door anymore, doesn't mean that you can't be friends anymore.
P.S. most of my friends in my town live on the other side of town. which is a lot bigger than 2 miles. And we are still best friends.

hahahahaha That was pretty amusing. This thread was a little misleading I thought your friend was moving cross country or something, my best friend has lived two miles from me for the last 15 years it's not so bad, you'll deal.

i agree with everyone, 2 miles isn't that far. This thread was misleading, most best friends don't live close to eachother anyways. My best friend moved to florida and i live in maryland. She absolutely hates it, and i feel bad because i can't do anything to help her. :(

Dude my bff just moved away so now she's spending the night at my house. if you work for it, you two can keep your relationship just as strong. you won't be able to chill at each other's places every day, but you can still be best friends.

I've had a crush on a guy since i saw first met him, & now its turned into love. We dated briefly twice, & are really close friends.. I suppose closer than best friends, as i know things his best mates don't. I've even saved his life. Then a couple of weeks ago he told me he was going to Australia for a month, i was upset 'cause i still would miss him even though it was only for a month.. But it got worse, a couple of days ago he told me his mums planning on their family staying there permantly, because theres no point being in England. I'm so upset over this, i've been sick over and over again, right now im off school 'cause im so upset. I know i've still got basically a year left with him, but its my LAST year. Anyway, he's been madly in love with the prettiest girl in school [one of my friends] since they met about 2 years ago. He admitted still fancying her when we dated. :-(
Does anybody know what i can do? I've tried getting over him, but that just hurt him for some reason. :\ He asked me if i can blame him for wanting to move permantly and i cant, actually.. But the thing is, he said it'll be good cause he wont ever have to talk or see my friend again, so he can finally be free, and over her. When i asked, what about me, never seeing me again, he said dunno.. but judging by what he said to me when he was a drunk a couple of days before, i know he'll miss me. I know people will be having bigger problems than me right now, but can anybody help? It's unbearable.

I do have some advice for you:
-Do not use big, bold fonts.
-Do not raise three year old threads from the dead.
-Get over it. Life goes on.

If it helps at all my boyfriend moved to Australia. I don't talk to him that often because I can't exactly function on 3 hours of sleep every night. I'd be a lot more upset if my best friend moved away though, cause we're super close.

Next year my best friend is moving to the other side of campus. But that's like a 45 minute walk, so I honestly think it's going to drastically cut down on the amount of time we see each other. We'll probably just "do lunch" like once a week or something to catch up, and then never really see each ohther.

Did you ever/do you do what he is in rehab for? Just ask yourself the question; People getting over addictions tend to shut out those who they associate with the addiction (I did.)

Your boyfriend moved to Austrailia and he's still your boyfriend? That's stupid. You're sixteen, it's not worth hanging on. If there is something there - It will happen when you're of age to get married.

Ya I know. I can't say I don't agree with you. I just have issues breaking up with people especially when they already are really depressed. Oh well I'm sure it's not gonna take him long to realize that it is gonna work. Trust me.

1 week before senior year of high school started, my two best friends, twin brothers, moved to arkansas from our home of indiana. everytime I see them again and they leave, a part of me goes with them everytime they leave. now i'm left feeling sorry for myself. we keep in touch, and I see them maybe once every 4-6 months. i'm saddened thinking about the point where we just stop calling each other and stop visiting each other on school breaks. we're slowly fading away, I just want to scream

my best friend who i am with every day is moving 8 hours away from me. it is going to suck.
My best friend just moved to the east coast to be with her boyfriend (we're from the west siiiiyed). Yeah, it's hard. We grew up living a half-hour away from each other anyway and that wasn't a big deal. But, three time zones away? That's hard.
