i really like it also! im still getting used to bloodshot and the resolution but they are amazing songs, just really different from the typical "jack's/soco" vibe.

bloodshot is so different... in a good way. it just took me a few listens to get into it because the beginning really put me off at first. i think the resolution has stronger lyrics and verses, but i'm loving the chorus in bloodshot and the bridge at the end. i don't know if it's going to end up being my favorite song on the album, but i like the direction i see this going so far.

For not being a fan of this band at all, Bloodshot is a great song.

I've yet to hear the new material but the first Jack's album/anything Soco did absolutely nothing for me.

Sounds like Hollister-pop.

I'm not against change, but in my opinion this is not for the better. It sounds like he bought 900 more pairs of flip flops between recording sessions.

People like that liked him, but he always managed to have more substance than the other acts those people worshipped.

He's gone from conveniently being on the OC to sounding like the bands those folks would listen to.

are all of the songs on this going to be on TGP?

I'll just wait for that, then. I hate getting stuff from itunes, and the live stuff will be up as b-sides at some point.

Sounds a lot less mainstream than any of his previous albums in SoCo or JM, imo. Then again, I've only heard two songs from the new album.

The live "HFR" is awesome; I've had that version of "KTM" for a while now, though; I would have expected something new.

i was less than impressed on first listen.

after a few listens i appreciated that it sounding different actually made it the better of the new songs.
while i love the revolution, it sounds like i expected the lead single to. :)

Seriously, I see no benefit at all in buying from iTunes. If you can name one advantage it has over physical albums, please enlighten me.

not trying to be a dick, I'm seriously interested in what people see in buying digital music

I wasn't really referring TGO in particular, but digital music as a whole (yes, I know TGO is an online exclusive but the studio songs will be on TGP as well). My argument is, if the only thing that makes someone buy digital rather than physical is immediacy, why not just download it for free now and buy the album later when the store is open? I figure if I'm spending money either way, I might as well get the artwork as well.

And of course it's still digital; it's also digital when I rip a CD to my computer. The difference is not only the addition of a physical product, but also quality. iTunes offers music in (correct me if I'm wrong) 128k and--for a higher price--256k. I can rip CDs lossless if I want. Granted, someone will probably come in and say that vinyl quality supercedes that of CDs, and I'll probably agree; however, I see CDs as a happy compromise of quality and versatility.

for lazy people like me, lyrics:

bloodshot

she walks to the mailbox each morning at nine
everyday she begins she's always one day behind
atleast when it comes to the mail

she sits on the balcony paying the bills
no letters, just ash and her cigarette song to the sill
every breath a little more pale

the hill is still left to climb
it's just so high and i'm so tired
come on look me in my bloodshot eyes
the clouds are all on fire

he sits in his basement from midnight to 4
painting pictures that nobody sees from his days in the war
the canvas is painted bright red

he heats up the shower, he paces the hall
he'll scrub for an hour or more but he wont get it off
the paint in his fingernail beds

the hill is still left to climb
it's just so high and i'm so tired
come on look me in my bloodshot eyes
the clouds are all on fire
it's just so high and i'm so tired
come on look up at the bloodshot sky
the clouds are all on fire

we wait in valleys while the clouds come in
they see no shadows 'cause that shadow's all there is
and we climb
and we climb but

it's just so high and i'm so tired
come on look me in my bloodshot eyes
the clouds are all on fire
it's just so high and i'm so tired
come on look up at the bloodshot sky
the clouds are all on fire

Good point. Torrenting was your only choice!

I'll probably buy the actual CD when it's released.

I'm not too sure if I'm really digging Bloodshot, or the live version of Holiday From Real for that matter. But, The Resolution is great. I can't wait to see Jack's Mannequin on 8.17 and 8.30.
