saosin did not want this released...Beau (guitarist/producer) will be super upset/frustratedwhen he's sees this. Seriously. He posted a message in the Saosin message boards about this song, and than the thread was deleted shortly after. here's what he had to say:

ok, so here is my take on the matter.

in the studio he kicks ass. he sings great. pretty much perfect. way better than anthony. and much easier to work with.

i remember that show. the first day of warped tour. our first day playing in like 6 months. cove sang bad, and we were sloppy. just a bad show in general. cove was extremely nervous going out there. keep in mind, it was his first show with us, and he is playing to 700 kids at warped tour.
i would have been just as nervous he was. and, because we were all nervous, we were playing the song like a million miles per hour. haha, so that made it harder for him too.

we wouldnt put someone in front of us who we think sings like crap. he did great in the 3 practices we had with him. nerves are a funny thing.

i have a recording of him at san diego that he sings really well on. i will try to post it in the next couple days.

but ya, i agree, it was a bad show for all of us. it will take some time before whoever we get to sing for us, becomes comfortable being in front of you guys.

but whoever we end up getting, cove, or whoever he may be, it will be a decision that we are proud of and that will take some getting used to by everyone.

we love our music and we will not settle for someone we dont believe in.

so, this being said, thank you to everyone who continues to support us, and we are almost done with the new record. its turning out amazing. i am stoked. its got something for everyone.

There are two versions of the song "I Can Tell". One is sung by Anthony and the other is sung by Cove. If you actually compare it, the Cove version sounds much better.

bro...there is NO excuse for this though. Anthony goes NUTS live...and so do a million other bands, but he seriously hits about 2 good notes. The rest are out of key..and if youve compared this too the studio version of I can tell, it sounds like a totally different dude. Seriously. This is bad, live or not, its horrible and I dont blame beau for trying to keep this song from as many people as possible like he has. I refuse let this live performance hinder hope or expectations though, i udnerstand the kids only 18 and hasnt performed it front of a live audience in his life...Im sure he'll come around with some practice.

this is all ridiculous. first off, Cove has not been set in stone as the new singer, they are still trying out other singers, he has just been above the rest. secondly, it was one of Cove's first ever (besides his old/small band)
times being up on stage, in front of 700 fans nonetheless. If you listen to the two songs (I Can Tell There Was An Accident Here Earlier & Mookies Last X-Mas (acoustic)) you can tell that the kid does have talent, its just up to his live performance as well as ability to actually write his own lyrics. Just give it time and stop with all the hyping god damnit, all it does it kill it in the end.
