I only talked to him a few times and he seemed nice. We had a little disturbment about religion and how he wants to die to be in heaven and I didn't understand that. I thought it was weird. But weirdness isn't a reason to not like someone and he seemed ok, so eh. Whatever.

You have to remember that there are people who don't always agree with you and will voice their opinion. If you are passionate about something, you should also be strong enough to deal with negative comments about it.
