Also, it's pretty well known that Bush spent his "younger years" playing baseball, used to own the Texas Rangers, and give an incredible amount of money to Little League Baseball and other youth sports programs. Bush also attempted to get NATO involved and members of the G8, but the ones who are in are already in, and the ones who don't want to are being incredibly difficult. It's not a matter of effort, the other countries just aren't interested. NATO refused to send its own troops (although some countries sent extra troops on their own) to Afghanistan to protect their first free election in years. That should tell you their level of interest.
