oh how i could afford one of these sexy guitars now. the tonal customization you can get with one of these babies is incredible...plus they just look badass
jaguars are amazing.
beautiful guitar.
Definitely a nice guitar for the money... I was surprised when I picked one of these up a week ago just to mess around and got such a good sound out of it.

I want to go try one out. I don't really need a lot of different tones, but I find them very interesting. What do all the switches do??

basically. say you take the tone knob and the pickup switch on most guitars and gut them into a bunch of diff. switches..that is what you would get..endless tone combos

That's not true...

There's a standard Volume knob and a Tone knob next to the 1/4" jack. The three switches below the pickups are an on-off switch for each pickup and a hi-pass filter. The hi-pass filter accents the treble and cuts out bass so the guitar can cut through a full band mix better, like for a solo or something. All of these controls are the "Lead Circuit."
Above the neck pickup there is one switch and two knobs. This is the "Rhythm Circuit." If the switch is up, it turns on the Rhythm, down is Lead. The Rhythm Circuit only uses the neck pickup, and the two knobs are the volume and tone.
Vintage Jaguars (and Vintage Reissues) also have a string mute that you can use instead of palm muting.
The Jaguar was invented in response to the popularity of the Jazzmaster for Surf music. They shortened the scale, added the mute, hi pass filter, and changed the mechanics for the tremolo to work better for Surf rock.
