I know it's already out, but people really need to listen to the new Rise Against cd, Siren Song of the Counter Culture. It's BRILLIANT. Totally off topic, sorry, but I just heard it today on the drive, and it totally caught me off guard. Amazing vocals, positive energy and message. I can't put into words how much I like this cd.

As Derrick Rust, it is nice to see that another human being out there besides me doesn't have a myspace account. I mean, I am sure it would be fun to whore myself out to try and make internet friends but I usually am able to find something else to do. I don't mean to make fun of the whole thing but it seems like it is just a gigantic orgy of kids with perfectly messed up hair and tight pants saying "owned", "oh snap", "scene", "I heart you xbleedingxheartxdyingxhandsxbloodx", and "woot".

i joined myspace for the sake of using it as a promotion tool.

also, i felt i had to make myself look 75% more scene in order to join so with the help of photoshop i gave myself some enhancements.

To tell you the truth, I myself am not "pushing" myspace. I just think when I am telling someone about a band that maybe they havent heard of the myspace link is a quick and easy way to check them out, hear there music and see what there all about, Kind of like purevolume. I think its a great promotional tool for exposure to all kinds of diffrent people.

The point is, it's still a promotional tool in a sense. If it's what's hot right now, then it's cool that bands can post their music on there and have it exposed. I bet (not saying this is a good thing) that Myspace gets more hits than Purevolume.. so why shouldn't bands post their music there as well?
