This very rarely happens for me...but 2 bands come to mind:
Green Day: My official dislike of green day came when I was like 19 or 20 (whenever american idiot came out)....I had loved just about everything they had ever done before that album...while i didn't like american idiot really at all...it didn't bother me...i just figured they'd do better next time...but then I went and saw them live...i had never seen green day live but had always wanted to...i had dreams of watching them play my favorites like "longview" or "basket case"....and they did....after about an hour of playing american idiot in order. that really pissed me off...i mean i still got to see the songs i wanted played....but my thinking behind it was..."you guys have been making music for 17 years and you come out and play your newest album from start to finish in order instead of playing the stuff that made you famous in the first place". Haven't been a green day fan since.
Escape the Fate: Met ronnie radke like 8 times...the first time i met him my buddies band was playing with them in seattle a couple days after warped tour was here...he came outside while we were all talking and just started introducing himself and talking to us which i thought was really cool. he seemed like a nice guy....and then everytime after that i met him or i saw anyone else meet him he was a complete asshole. i'm not the star struck kind of person (especially not with someone like him who i wouldn't even consider "famous" in the sense of the word) so all i would do is say "hey man good show" or something similar to that...and the guy pretty much always blew me off...i noticed it happening to other people too...then i started reading on this forum about all the stuff with him being part of that shooting and getting caught with drugs and now FINALLY going to prison...and i realized...everyone hates him
hopefully craig from btf will be a better fit for escape the fate...but honestly craig kind of annoys me lol

While I am an enormous fan of Propagandhi's music, I detest much of their politics and banter. And how they disrespect their fans and supporters. Chris Hannah is a real asshole from what I read, but without actually ever talking to the guy, I can't really say.

Depends on what's being said/done really. I mean if the band's political stance is included in the songs and radically different from the listener's, it's understandable to not show support. If it's simply a matter of actions one deems unacceptable (general debauchery, Pete Wentzism, etc.), then it's ridiculous and one should only focus on the music.

A few days ago, I asked someone on here about a band, and they said he won't support them or listen to them and has no respect for them because of what they do when they're on tour. I don't get it. It doesn't change their sound, and especially if you liked them before you knew that about them...
I can't listen to a band and enjoy knowing bad things about them. I don't know what band you are talking about, but if I was to hear that the singer of one of my favorite bands was a prick to everyone he met, slept with a different girl at each show, and was more interested in fame than the music he is writing, I would never listen to them again

I thought Anthony Green was an asshole at first, but it was a bad experience and he's actually a really, really nice guy.

thats a little bit weird. usually Gerard never shuts up on stage.
when did you see them?
I saw them Aprilish 2007 I believe at the John Labbatt Centre in Ontario.
I can't say I've ever stopped liking a band for reasons other than their music.

Their music is still good, but right after Cork Tree Pete Wentz became too obnoxious to ignore. And so listening to their music made my ears bleed.
he's a total media whore lol

The more interested in fame than the music thing usually effects the music, so chances are, you'd be less interested in the music because of that, which doesn't really count as a reason other than the music. But if the music is still good and they're more interested in fame, then I still wouldn't stop listening to them. And I was talking about The Toasters, who are one of my favorite ska bands of all time.

I have seen MCR three times. The first time he didnt say anything other than "we are the fucking black parade" which really got on my tits. But second and third time he never shut up and abused the crowd (which i love cause its gets everyone going)
Three times. You can point and laugh n...............now.
i've seen them twice and both times and in between songs he never shut up.
not that thats a bad thing, it was actually very entertaining.
yeah i love when he abuses the crowd. what annoys me though is the over sensitive fan girls who are like 'zomgz gerald swore at us, hes such a meanie-poo'. they cant take a joke.

I usually only stop liking bands becuase they started making crappy music, but i have to admit I kind of gave up on From First to Last after Sonny left becuase of some comments the remaining members made. FFTL were never the greatest band, even though i did like them, but it just pissed me off that other people in that band acted like big babies to the press. and then my dislike of them was justified when i checked out thier new cd. that cd was everything that is wrong with the scene these days. it was assembly line emo. horrible.

A Day To Remember.. I realllly liked them, and then their lead vocalist was a complete dick to one of my friends at a signing, so I just kind of gave up on them.

There are bands I just completely can't listen to because I've heard things about their vocalists. The ones that really get me are christian bands that act completely hipocritically. I'm not religious at all, but it just really annoys me when i hear things about them being that way.

Firstly, who is gerald?
Secondly, they annoy the fuck out of me too. A punch to the ovaries is not out of the question for these teeny boppers.
I was at an Aiden gig and wiL kept spitting on the crowd and it was just a load of girls at the front who were trying to crawl up his leg who got spat on. Hilarious.

When I stop liking bands for reasons other than the music it's usually because of the fans that the band has. I used to like Bloc Party until all of the holier than thou indie kids jumped on it. My Chemical Romance I'll admit to enjoying before all of the Hot Topic kids jumped on them. And there are a few other bands, but those are the ones I remember off the top of my head. It has nothing to do with the band getting poplar. I'm all for good bands getting fans, but when the majority of the fans end up being idiots, it turns me off.
