this morning, one of those live commercials advertising the new live SportsCenter on Monday came on, featuring Steve (who i am getting thoroughly sick of). well, thanks to live TV, someone at ESPN snuck a hidden message through to all the viewers!

at the very least that looks too much like fuck to be on there. i agree im sick of him, hes struggling, brutal at times but maybe thats supposed to be part of the humor. his time is almost up anyway.

This guy is the worst thing to happen to ESPN since dominos.

I kinda like him. He's a real employee, right? If not this sucks, but if so, its a nice touch to their advertising campaign.

I just thought it was funny how he was palling around with Frank Mir on there all day yesterday. What was he doing at ESPN headquarters anyway?

I'm pretty indifferent to the whole Steve live commercials thing.
My favorite Sportscenter commercial:

Sometimes I wonder how "live" they are, because the timing is pretty good...but, overall, pretty funny.

i'm too cynical to believe it's really that live or that spontaneous, but who cares, i'll take it, it's pretty good stuff

I'm sure the stuff they do is planned, but they keep making references to the game that's going on ESPN during those commercials, so it must either really be live or very close to it.

I like these spots.
i think they are 100 percent live because if you match up the time on the clock around his neck to the time it is accurate with when the first live SC is going to air

well, you could film it exactly ten minutes before every airing time and set the clock ten minutes forward. tricky, but possible.

A guy I went to high school with works for ESPN. He was one of the guys playing football outside during that spot. They are 100% live.

These are funny. They seem to be somewhat live. Like...I bet they tape them like a half hour before they're shown. Either way, it's cool.

i believe they're live. the scores and shit he spouts off are always right on. and sometimes he references a play that just happened right before the commercial break.

That's why initially I was going to say they were live, but honestly they could also tell him what Sportscenter is planning to air and let him roll with it. The first spot I ever saw was him talking about a highlight they had just shown.

but i mean, he'll talk about a play that just happened in the game that's airing.
and the scores he says are always current.

Someone want to explain to me what the commercials are for? I've never really watched one, I just see a kid standing next to a clock.

starting monday or whenever the morning sportscenter is going live.
instead of repeating the 1am sc all morning, they'll be doing them live from 9-3.
