I went to a hookah bar with some old friends from high school over Christmas break last year and I wasn't a big fan. It was my first time ever smoking anything and I thought it was kind of gross and didn't really like the way it felt or the taste it left. Except other people have told me to use different flavors. I think I just suck at smoking... except I still want to try weed at some point.

my favorite is starbuzz, they make some rad flavors like peach and guava. lately we've been playing homerun. it really really sucks cause it makes you so light headed. the rules are:
for instance there are 4 people, the first person takes a hit and holds it, passes it to the next person. they take a hit and hold it and so on. You cannot release your hit until the hose has made it all the way back to you. essentially it makes you really sick. or we just try to do french inhales like seth rogan can do in pineapple express. no one has mastered it yet.

Edit: my best story is when i was smoking for my first time with my buddy stu, aja, john and his gf. john had taken X so he was a little weird for the ordeal, but we were smoking and then stu laid on a hose, knocking the hookah onto the bed, covering me and stu in burning charcoal. John immediatley picked up the blazing coal and threw it at the door. The coal bounced off and back onto the bed. i've never laughed so hard before in my life.

Might I recommend picking up a Tangier Funnel Bowl, if you haven't already. Makes your shisha taste 2x better, last 2x longer, and way easier to clean.

haha, smoking regular, unflavored tobacco would be completely pointless. However, flavored tobacco filtered through water is exceptionally smooth and tasty.

well the extreme heat from the coal will basically vaporize your weed, unless you have alot of it :). It is designed to smoke tobacco which is wet.

haha, wow. yea they sell small, medium, and large funnel bowls. My medium bowl lasts me a good 45+ minutes, pretty large. and yea, plenty of holes. I usually do 3-4 layers. one for the outer ring, one further inwards after that, then a smaller, more spaced out ring inside of that, and THEN one good sized hole right in the center. put 3 coals on top of that bad boy and your smoke will be amazing. try it!

have you ever put milk into your hookah? like mix it with water in your base. makes your smoke REAL THICK. just a bitch to clean though..you gotta make sure you clean it real well

and amen to the smoke bubbles. what we do is we the cardboard part of the paper towel roll when we finish the roll. you can get some legit rings with that. very enjoyable

haha well if you got the size bowl that I think you did, you will need a minimum of three coals. place all of them in three corners, none on the center. also, be careful about moving your coals after they start to turn grey, they will break up, fall into your hookah, and ruin your bowl.

Sad Story: I just first learned what a hookah is about a month ago. My friend put pictures on facebook and I thought, I must know what this fantastic fountain-like contraption is. I was disappointed I have no use for it.

Sometimes when I'm smoking hookah I make an o with my tounge and let the smoke out through it cause I think it tastes good hahaha. I don't really know how to explain it. I just know I look really dumb doing it so I don't usually. The place I smoke at has like a billion flavors so I haven't tried them all yet. I really like cappuccino and mango, not together of course.

after u cover it wtih foil you want to seal it real tight. so there isnt any loose air pockets. then poke a lot of holes with a pushpin into the top. you need a lot so your shisha will burn but not too much where your shisha burns too quickly. kinda experiment with how many holes you use. if i could take a picture of how it would look, i would.

but after u poke the holes, if its really hard to suck in with the hose once the coals are lit and it doesnt seem like the hookah's starting, then you need more holes (at least thats how ive learned)

anyway..once you have your holes. you want to light your coals. i hope youre not using quick-lights because those are reaaaaly bad for you..try to find coals that are like cylinders (i dont know what mine are called but mine are cylinders and are really good). and light 3 of them..and line them up so they form a triangle (basically on the corners of the bowl) that should start off your hookah realy well

if it seems like its burning too fast, then take a coal off. if it starts getting harsh and burning your lungs, then take the coals off..use tongs and scrape off the loose ash. and very carefully, take the bowl off and blow through the bottom so all the ash goes away and then put some coals back on. that should do it

i hope this works. if people think im doing everything wrong, well ive been using techniques like these for years and theyve worked for me. i hope everything ive said makes sense.

uhhh. i don't even know what to say to this. when i'm back home, i smoke hookah with weed every day. in fact, the first time i smoked hookah with just shisha was last week. it's a fantastic combination of the high you get from weed and the head rush from hookah. i recommend everyone tries it. all the time.

yeah i think the push pin idea will be good combined with three coals. i usually use my tongs metal thing to punch holes, so the holes are really big. tonight ill try this.

oh and right now im really into coco-nara coals, awesome btw. they're made of crushed coconut shells so they're eco friendly as well as they dont get so ashy like charcoal does.

i've tried it with just one nug sprinkled on top of the shisha. turns out well. the weed burns first cause its dry and on top. then its shisha for the rest of the time.

i love hookah. i have a 2 hose one that i bought from this guy i work with. me and a bunch of my friends from school do it like once a week. i have some awesome shisha. its the star buzz fuzzy naval. its like kiwi and some other fruit. wow its so good. i love standing up after a good hookah session haha.
