the whole 3-way rock peformance i thought was kinda tacky. jet and yellowcard didn't sound that bad at all. hoobastank's singer just wasn't with it tonite. a lot of people dont like hoobastank in here, nor am i a die hard fan either. but i'll tell you what. there was 10+ major acts at the Rolling Rock Town Fair in Latrobe this year, and Hoobastank owned. just a really rock, up-beat set.

Have you ever really seen a video that actually followed the video? Did you see the senses fail one (although I do like the song and band...don't hate me)? that was a horrible video, but it followed the song exactly. If your video follows the song exactly it gets kind of weird. Wanna know something weird...the same guy that directed Sic Transit Gloria also did Ocean Ave. So by stating that that's a horrible video then you're insulting the craft of a guy that made an absolutely beautiful video that is Sic Transit Gloria, however I personally thought that Ocean Ave. was a great video.

Kanye West's and Alicia Key's performance weren't bad, but I'm not down with Usher and Lil' Jon rapping/singing over the actual track itself. It's like the song is playing and all Usher is saying is "Ugh" while maybe singing a line here and there while Lil' Jon is "rapping" "YEAH" and "WHAT?". It's just so fake and artifical. However, I must agree the WORST performance of the night was Hoobastank. Boy, did those vocals sound horrible or what? It might not help that I think "The Reason" is the worst song of the year.

to everyone that thought hoobastank sucked at the vma's...you are right. they sucked hard. but in their defense, i have to say that they at least deserve credit for actually playing/singing their own song. most of the other performers did sound quite a bit better because it's easy as hell to shout "yeah" every few seconds over a previously recorded track. and another thing... they were playing for millions and millions of people, so you also have to give them credit for going out there and not staying huddled in the back in the fetal position crying like i woulda done.

Hoobastank is a pretty decent band live and their cd is not bad, that song Absolutley Horrible. I can Garantee when the singer kept making the crowd scream "The reason is You" is because he would not of been able to reach that high on the "You." Yellowcard is fucking amazing, im not a big fan anymore not becasue they got big, they deserve it, but it kind of seems like Ryan is taking it all to his head, it could be me just being a moron. I was surprised to see only one other post complaining about Mase saying wlecome back! 40 million fucking times. Diddy is talking about people needing to vote (which is getting old by the way) and here comes dumbass saying welcome back to the camera again and again until i wanted to kill myself.

Every year i watch the vmas cause they are somewhat entertaining but christ this year the only band I wanted to see, which was yellowcard and im not even a fan, only got a minute and a half to play while rappers are playing for 20 minutes.
