Starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jamie Foxx. Directed by Joe Wright (Atonement, Pride & Prejudice). This is another Oscar buzz movie that I'm looking forward to seeing.

Yeah, i am excited for this one as well. I love Robert Downey Jr. and I don't want to go into my feelings for Atonement again so I won't.

I just heard about this for pretty much the first time and it sounds great. Downey, Foxx, and Joe Wright, who did an amazing job with Atonement and deserved an Oscar nomination ten times more than Jason Reitman- I'm all over it. Can't wait for this.

Aside from Foxx, I love the premise and RDJ so I'll suck it up and definitely check it out.

RDJ has been one of my favorite actors since I was a kid and my favorite movie was Heart & Souls. We need a RDJ appreciation thread if it does not already exist.

looks pretty good.

Jamie Foxx and I talked it over and we both agreed that you aren't allowed to see it because you hate him. Hope you enjoy not seeing the movie now.

Wow that really sucks. This was one of the movies I was looking forward to seeing the most this fall. Also interesting to read that they want to try and nominate Downey for Tropic Thunder.

Was this based on a book or magazine article or something? I feel like I'd heard about this story way before hearing there was a movie coming out.

EDIT: Ah, ok, I see it was based off some LA Times columns. Feel like I heard about this on This American Life or something.

I just saw it last night.

It's been a long time since a movie moved me like this one. It was absolutely fantastic. The narrative was a little shaky, but I think the absolutely superb acting made up for it.

I'm going to see this in a few minutes. Its a shame it was edited down from an R to PG-13 but I still think it'll be great.

It was good, really choppy narrative that makes it seem a lot longer than it is

But Foxx and Downey were great. Foxx was absolutely fantastio in every scene he had

I thought it was a complete and utter mess. Did not enjoy it. It would have been so much better if they just kept it in the POV of RDJ throughout. They just tried to do too much. What a disappointment. The only good thing was the acting, but that goes without saying. It's a shame, because it could have been something great.

Unfortunately, I have to agree. I thought this movie was going to be so good, and I didn't enjoy it really at all...Downey Jr's scene where he is looking for Foxx in the hospital was way to over the top in my opinion as well. Felt that had to be mentioned.
