New Lovedrug comes out in October and they released a new song on their MySpace called "Everyone Needs A Halo". It's so grungy.

I loved Everything Starts Where It Ends but I missed the more piano driven stuff of Pretend You're Alive so I was hoping it would be more like that but I still really dig this new song.

Great band.

Is it just me or does that album art remind anyone else of Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness?

Not to me, no.

I saw Lovedrug once, and it was terrible. So I never gave them a chance on record.

Pretend You're Alive is my favorite so yes, I think so. Great album. It's more mellow I'd say.

That's odd. Seeing them live was actually what got me into them. They're great.

Really? Well, don't let that ruin it for you.

I've never really heard that before.

In their defense, considering the four bands I saw before them and the band I saw after played sets of their lives, yeah. I dunno...

Who'd you see them with?

My first introduction was them opening for Relient K 3 1/2 years ago.

It was at a festival...

The Chariot - As Cities Burn - Copeland (headliner stage 1) - Underoath (headliner stage 2) - Lovedrug (encore support) - Anberlin (encore headliner)

Yeah, I could definitely see them getting overshadowed by that lineup.

Mmhmm. It was The Chariot with the old line-up, As Cities Burn with TJ, Copeland pre-E,S,R, Underoath pre-DTGL, and Anberlin pre-Cities. All with an hour set time (Underoath with an hour and 15). Lovedrug had 45 minutes and it was just... not there.

But, I heard they're fantastic in a club. It just seems I caught this band on their one off-date.

Sounds epic. I never got to see ACB with TJ.

Copeland is one of the best live bands I've ever seen. I could use some new stuff soon.

I've seen them twice with TJ, twice without, and one Cody solo show. All have been some of the best single sets I've ever seen.

I could, too. Aaron's voice live is so amazing. I almost went to the Copeland/Lovedrug/Brandston/Myriad tour but I think I was out of town.

That would have been an amazing show. The second one you mentioned.

I saw Copeland on the Screaming Is For Babies tour with Starting Line, Cartel, Gatsbys American Dream and New Atlantic. Probably the best show I've ever been to.

As for ACB, I was hoping that the outro song they would end their shows with would end up on the new record but it didn't... Made me sad but I love Come Now Sleep. I think Cody has a great voice.

Wow I saw Lovedrug when they were with Copeland (who was headlining) and Lovedrug destroyed Copeland that night. It was amazing. Copeland (who I've seen at least 4 or 5 times live) has never done it for me, Aaron's voice isn't loud or strong enough, and it seems like you're at a coffee bar, not a show.

That hurts. Ha.

I love that kind of stuff. I am hoping they can top Eat, Sleep, Repeat. Loved it.

Totally. I hope it comes to Springfield so I don't have to travel to KC if I want to go.

So who has heard the new album? Thoughts?

The piano part to candy is so amazing.

I love Down Towards the Healing, The Monster and Candy the most, every track is great though.

Down Towards The Healing is great as well. Besides It Won't Last, I love every track on PYA. I think his lyrics on that record are perfect.

Listened to it. None of them catch onto me except the obvious single, "Everyone Needs A Halo" if I really like that one, what are some of the other tracks to listen to to get into the entire album?

I love "blood like", but the really grungy stuff has taken some get used to... "everyone needs a halo", "let it all out", "the dirtiest queen". I think I might like it though... He seems really angry. Somebody in the Copeland- YAMS thread said that they had a mishap with a major label? Can anyone confirm that?

Awesome band, favorite tracks off this record at the moment are "Fake Angels", "Blood Like" and "Let It All Out".

Loved their first two releases. I saw them at the Purple Door Festival a couple of years ago and they killed it live, too - especially with "Down Towards the Healing."

I'm loving the new one too, but I'm having trouble breaking into the second half of the album. It's pissing me off because i want to love it so badly, but it's just not working out after the first few listens. I appreciate the grittier lyrics on this one, but I definitely miss the more poetic imagery of Pretend and Everything.
