so ok. I just read "naked" by david sedaris (i love him, he is absolutely genius) and its really got me thinking. i realize i judge people on their clothing. like not my friends obviously, but strangers. if they are wearing something the colors or styles i like, or "punk",i assume theyre cool. if theyre wearing something tacky, i assume theyre not. similarly, sometimes my confidence is based on what im wearing. now, for example, im wearing a smashing outfit that i feel both represents my personality and makes me look hot. so i feel great. when all my clothings dirty and i wear something ugly, i feel ugly.

somewhere in the back of my head i know thats absolutely stupid but it seems like a lot of our culture has the same problem. i mean, its stupid really. everyone i know spends so much money on clothing. think what we could do with all that money ! i mean, why dont we all just walk aroud naked? or, when its cold, we could have a few underpants, and i guess bras would be useful, and like 2 pairs of pants and 2 shirts and a sweater or whatever depending on the weather and just alternate so you have time to clean it?
sorry this is so long and pointless..

Read "Dress Your Family In Quardiroy and Denim"

And I know what you mean about the, "feel good when I look good" thing.
