I could have sworn I made this thread a few years ago but I can't find it. I just watched them both a few more times and I'm pretty sure I liked the first one the best.
I didn't leave an option for Part III, but if that one is your favorite just respond to the thread, "I am partially retarded and don't understand most of the things that happen around me in life."

To me the first one was flawless. Not only was the storyline perfect, but the family acted out everything to perfection. I also think a lot of it has to do with reading the book too. They go into so much detail that lays out the happenings of the movie so much better.

I really need to watch the trilogy again. It's been too long.

II.
I hate when people rip on III. It isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Usually the people who rip it so hard are the people who haven't seen it and are just repeating what they've heard.

i went with The Godfather because i loved Don Vito Corleone and Sunny.

I am going to have to go with the first one even though I was disapointed by both.

The problem with III is that it is very predictable, the acting isn't nearly as good, the storyline is forced (at times) and everyone's persona has been altered way too much to treat it as a Godfather movie. I understand where it all comes from, but the "reasonableness" that was manifested by the first two movies was just not there the third time around. It's not a bad movie by any means, but it doesn't even touch the other two.

In what way were you "disapointed"?

I like Andy Garcia's character in it.

People always rave about the movies but when I saw them I just didn't think that they were that good.

Yea his character was decent, but the whole incest aspect is bizarre, and his "rise" was just weak compared to Michael's.

Good critique, I'm convinced.
I've never seen three, I should probably get around to that eventually; I think two is slightly better than one, being that they're both fantastic.

Part I by far.
2 of my favorite movies, though.
