I think it looks like it could be good. The cast is great, Harris, Mortensen and Irons. Let's forget about Zellweger. It's also directed by Harris. Also, where has Jeremy Irons been lately?

That DVD is great. I think his short is the best one.

Because for some inexplicable reason the other thread turned into a conversation about Jason Statham's best film.
This looks to continue the trend of great Westerns released in the past few years (The Proposition, 3:10 to Yuma).
As stated in the other thread, great cast and, though Harris has only directed one film before, it was fantastic and undoubtedly his finest performance. The book is great too. Alot of reasons to be excited about this one.

Don't forget The Assassination of Jesse James, too. Looking forward to this though...I think the reason why these westerns are succeeding is because of the perfect casting and subsequently the quality acting that comes from it.

Yeah even though its a long Western with only one gunfight in it, that one gunfight is so well done that it works pretty well.

It is very character driven. It has two male leads with a bond that really hasn't been seen in a western before. I'd characterize it as totally heterosexual, badass guy love.

Finally saw this, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Appaloosa is definitely one of my favorites of this year.
