haven't listened. The only good thing the blood brothers have done apart from each other were Soiled Doves and Neon Blonde.

It's absolute garbage.

Past Lives are good though. Neither are up to Blood Brother's caliber, though.

Never heard them. They never should have broke up.

I was so disappointed in this album. Total garbage.

I liked Crimes

The only album of theirs that wasn't great was Rumors Laid Waste. I personally prefer Crimes over Burn, Piano Island

I like songs off of everything they made, but Crimes was the least favorite of mine (besides Rumors Laid Waste).

jaguar love's album was really bad.
the neon blonde ep and album were sweet.

Head wound city is the only post blood brothers band I really liked.

Odd. I actually really liked this album although it has a few weak songs. Neon Blonde were great as well. Past Lives has this weird... effect on his voice. I have a live set that's pretty much superior to their EP, sadly. And Rumors Laid to Waste was hideous, but aside from that I liked almost every album the blood brothers did.

Wasn't this an EP?

Hey Kevin

Burn Piano Island is the best Blood Brothers album
Crimes is the worst
Neon Blonde and Jaguar Love both suck
Pats Lives and Soiled Doves are ok
Head Wound City put out one of my all time favorite records
The Blood Brothers were probably going to put out a really shit record if they didnt break up (even though Young Machetes was really good). I'm glad they split

BPIP is the most flawed. The last half of the album only has two decent songs.
And we're all forgetting Champagne Champagne and Mark Gajadhar's solo work, he has some really nice remixes of Young Machetes tracks on his myspace.

March On Electric Children is the best blood brothers album of all time.

I agree with this. Most cohesive and flowing, although some of the others have better tracks, they have way more filler.

everything on that album fits together, even the last track

This Adultery is Ripe has always been my favorite of theirs. Not a bad track on it.

For a concept album, BPIP really had almost nothing to do with its concept, and it stands to reason that most of its strongest tracks are about the concept. (Piano Island burning, I thought. At the very least it is never referenced again after that album).

March On, fucking great and it has my favorite Blood Brothers song.

What was the concept of BPIB? I just don't see it like the other albums

I actually like Jaguar. I have no problem with change, my Blood Babies were getting a little repetitive anyway.

Miss them, but I'm happy to say hello to JagLuv.

Cecilia was decent. I'm almost positive the concept of BPIP was to burn piano island to ground, it is referenced even in a Siamese Gun.
Theres a whole story about Piano Island and the journey the blood brothers go through with it. They get stuck on it and unable to leave on this adultery is ripe, take on mr electric ocean in March on Electric Children and etc. That album's actually hard to figure out what's going on, as far as I can tell its about rebellion and grotesque sex. And Mr. Electric Ocean I've always viewed as a figurative incarnation of how immersed we are in electrical technology (it even hints strongly at this with "we know you're watching mr. electric ocean", ie surveillance cameras). More specific, things like CRT monitors or TVs or video cameras.

I was almost positive it references burning Piano Island on March On, but checking lyrics online couldn't find it. I think its unwritten but Blilie screams it at some point (so burn piano island, although I might be hearing it wrong). But in BPIP they burn it down in tracks 1-3 or have a statement of intent concerning it. And 12 is them leaving it to go spread misery somewhere else. But outside of those 4 tracks, almost nothing on the album deals with Piano Island or their journey on it.

Am I the only one that kept re-downloading the shame because I thought the song got cut off at the end?

hahahaha. That's hilarious. I just bought the CD. Which is somewhat shameful as its on a major label... I really want to get March on on vinyl.

Fucking Young Machetes went all out on the vinyl release, solid colors.
And the album was produced by Guy Piccioto which is +9

I could have sworn March on Electric Children was a significantly older guy getting himself a younger girl, and then the grotesque, kinky sex he's into.

And with BPIB, makes sense now. The idea of it being a concept album didn't really fit in with the album. Then again, I haven't listened to the album in a while. So I'll do that and see if I can find a concept

I just want it be a b-side. The album flows much better without those three tracks, you must admit. And this version of Naseau shreds your hd should've been the one on the album :

Followed by Johnny Ripper.

dude I totally agree Jagaur Love is amazing. The best part of The Blood Brothers was Johnny's voice. now he depends on it some much and it totally works out for him. Hologram Jams is gonna be classified as one of the greatest albums of 2010.

The Jagaur Love album is sick. Sounds just like the blood brothers IMO.
