Underoath (http://www.underoath777.com) will reportedly be contributing their rendition of The Police's "Wrapped Around Your Finger" to !Policia!: A Tribute To The Police being worked on by the Militia Group. The record is expected this fall with other tracks by Maxeen, Fall Out Boy, Taking Back Sunday, and Motion City Soundtrack, among others.

actually, i don't think downloading is technically illegal. it's the uploading that than can get you for. also, this has the potential to be the best tribute/comp EVER.

there is a strong possibility that the TBS song will not be included. You can thank label drama.

Not quite. Right now, uploading is the thing that will get you sued. If you're downloading copyrighted works, it IS illegal. It's just not something that the RIAA will come after you for.

As for this comp... I heard about it a year ago. I'm REALLY hoping Militia Group puts it out soon. And if the TBS cover isn't on there... :(

OH! And the Counting Crows tribute album would be tight if 111 had gotten some better bands. There's a few of the covers I'm looking forward to (As Tall As Lions baby...), but I just wish it had the type of lineup that this did.

Ya in the AP magazine when TBS was on the cover it said inside that the Militia Group already had Watisha Wa doing "Message In A Bottle" but would gladly have TBS do it also

didnt they break up? and ive heard the possibility of TBS being on the comp is very slim now even though when they did it on the Jimmy Kimmel show FOREVER ago, they said that they were definitely going to be on the CD.

i can't wait for this comp. maybe it will remind so many of the people in America under the age of 20 that good music didn't start with Nirvana and Pearl Jam. this cd could be a really cool way to introduce kids to what has inspired so much of what we listen to today. but before you go buy the cover cd, buy a real Police cd and enjoy.

yeah, I'm so pumped for this. Lots of good bands doing some great covers. Couldn't find any hints about it from The Militia Group's site.

Whoa whoa whoa.... 18 here.... Respect....

Counting Crows, Police, Morrisey, The Cure, Led Zepplin, Don McLean, Beatles, James Taylor, Johnny Cash, Phil Collins (and Genesis!) all grace my speakers regularly. I agree there's a ton of kids who have no clue how good mainstream music could be, but there are us who do know there are better things than Brand New and what not. (Though I definitely would put Brand New in my top favorites of all time right along side The Beatles, James Taylor, and Our Lady Peace.

you know your stuff man. you are one of the few. i just get frustrated sometimes because all my friends think rock and roll was invented 15 years ago. i'm 18 too and am a huge fan of Boston, Johnny Cash, Cream, U2, etc...
anyway, i like your taste

Motion City Soundtrack - Truth Hits Everybody (according to edrose.com)
Brandtson - King Of Pain
TBS - Message In A Bottle (Watashi Wa broke up, so hopefully TBS is on now)
Underoath - Wrapped Around Your Finger

any other additions?

To the person that said a beatles tribute is well overdue, they have one. Well sort of and it isn't punk but it is still good stuff. The whole I am Sam soundtrack is all beatles songs redone by bands like Ben Harper and such. I recommend it
