there are so many good songs on the new album, their best or 2nd best to date. "jesus of suburbia," "boulevard of broken dreams," "are we the waiting," "wake me up when september ends," "homecoming," and "whatshername" are all awesome songs.

i hope that the album is better than the first single. green day is a revolutionary and great band, don't get me wrong. but american idiot sounds like every other song that they have done other than good ridance. their music is so simple, which made it cool 10 years ago, but i just haven't seen them improve as musicains at all. i'm probably gonna get a lot of crap for this post, but someone must agree with me

yea, tre's part in homecoming is definately fucking awesome. i wish they woulda extended the little guitar solo, but the sax in the background was fucking cool. other than homecoming, my fav track is definately st. jimmy. i wanna hang out with st. jimmy. it's a real shame he blew his brains out into the bay, cuz he seemed like a fuckin cool guy.

Maybe they didn't improve so much as musicians, but as songwriters and composers they've gotten nothing but better with age.
Warning:? Phenomenal, their only album where I like every song. I've been holding off listening to American Idiot and I can't wait to hear it.

agreed...warning is one of their only albums i can listen to all the way through...and shenanigans (sp?) didnt work for me...i only enjoyed one or two songs on it...so hopefully american idiot will keep me listening.

for those of you who havent heard american idiot, you will not be dissapointed in the least. it really is an amazing album. the musicianship is much better than previous releases(although i thought the musicianship on warning was pretty damn good) and the songwriting is fantastic. i expected a good greenday album, but i never would have expected something quite so good from greenday. i love this album.

I'd find that so much cooler if I actually listened to rock radio. But it's full of crap, so I don't.
