Okay, so I grew up in New England (Maine, to be specific) so i'm obsessed with Boston/New England sports, most especially the Red Sox. Is this the year? We're looking pretty damn good right now (except the Damn Yanks destroyed us this afternoon).

I don't want to say anything about this year being the year or not. My roommate last year kept saying "World Series, here we come" during the A's series, and during the Yanks' series. I kept telling him to shut the fuck up. I just don't want to jinx anything. I'll be happy when we're officially there.

Thanks man. Yeah, Tek and Ortiz are my faves. Ortiz gave me the double handed point that Manny and him do once.

I dont see the jackass youre talking about. Probably because I'm a sox fan so I look through it. I hate to say "this is the year", but we are looking really good right now. We have better D and speed now. Nixon is back, Lowe was pitching good (come back Lowe) and the Manny Ortiz combo is just amazing. I like our rotation in the playoffs, but I fear we will have to go through the twins this year, not the A's. If we meet the yanks in the ALCS again, I like our chances better.

They looked horrible today against the Yankees. If they can't be the Yankees, they can't win it all.
On Ortiz - they need to start him everyday (if he isn't already).

My mom's side of the family's from Mass so I have to root for the Sox. Not that I'd like the Yankees anyway.

Mussina looked good in the first inning so far today. This could be a nice pitching duel.

Don't think so. The one thing that the Sox are doing this year that makes it an exceptional year is that they're doing really well late in the season. I believe we'll see some of that in the post season (knock on wood). I love the Red Sox and I just about cried when Aaron Boone hit that game/series winning homer last year in the ALCS. I hate the Yanks with every bit of passion that I have.

Generally, I think this team is much better suited for winning in the postseason than last year's (we got lucky that our bullpen turned it on at the right time). But the way we looked against the Yanks in this last series... We're gonna need to rebound back from this pretty quickly.
