surprised there's no thread for them here. anyways, appreciate this great band. one of my favorites from the past few years. no record sounds the same, and they have come into their own on their past album or two after doing some style borrowing in their early days. the new songs sound excellent as well. good to see they are finally starting to get noticed in their home country.

This albums grown on me a lot - this could possibly be my album of the year(or at least make it in the top 5)

Standout tracks for me are Closer, Crawl, Sex on Fire & Use Somebody

I would recommend this album to anyone wanted a decent rock album

I really enjoyed Only By The Night.
I'm glad that I purchased it, and the only reason I did was because I liked some of their older material, and also because it was top of the ARIA charts when I went to my local CD store.

Definitely slotted somewhere in my top 10 albums of the year.

I finally got to see them live this summer, and it was a great show. I was especially pleased with the set list which more or less included all of my favourites from the older albums, as opposed to many of the acts I saw which were a bit too focused on their latest albums. Only By The Night is a decent record for sure, but compared to their other three, and especially Because Of The Times, it was a bit of a disappointment in my opinion.

I'm so happy that they have been gettign the recognition that they deserve. They played in Mexico City recently for the first time since 2003. My cousin went and said that people were going crazy (there was over 20,000) of them! Funny story. I've been hearing about this band for a while now. Obviously I've heard Use Somebody more times than one man ever should in their life. I always heard mixed things though, that they were actually pretty good despite how they're lead singles make them sound. I never got around the checking them out. My buddy showed me "Closer" about half a year ago and I instantly fell in love. I still never got around to checking out the rest of Only By The Night. Friday during my woods and metals class my teacher turns on his cd player and as I was listening to what was playing I though "I've heard this voice before.... It's so familiar" and I was digging what I was hearing. Then Use Somebody came on and I was all NO WAY IT'S KINGS OF LEON

Jared's bass lines are seriously my favorite thing about this band. I LOVE his bass lines, they are so present in every song to the point where I actually know and expect them better than the lyrics. it's a fantastic thing. i love when instrumentals are so clear. Matthew's guitar parts too, they really add to the songs, everything is a piece of the whole picture with these guys.

Front row tonight. Amazing time. I don't care what shit I get, I just don't understand how people can hate on these guys the way they do. Freaking awesome musicians, can musically FILL the huge spaces they're playing now and the set list was awesome (songs from all five albums, closed with "Black Thumbnail" aka possibly the best bass line in rock at the moment). Things you learn when you can really see the band: Nathan Followill sings almost every word to almost every song along with Caleb.
