Stages & Stereos - Stages and Stereos
Record Label: None
Release Date: July 22, 2008
Who?
Stages & Stereos are a five-man, up-and-coming band out of Tallahassee, Florida. They enjoy playing about girls, love, and heartbreak.
How is it?
For a debut EP, not bad at all; quite enjoyable, actually. I liked the EP when I first heard it, but now that I have seen them live, I flat out love it. They mix it up quite a bit, letting you know that there really is more than one guitar in all of the tracks. Then, the band changes it up again when they pull out the slow, acoustic parts of "More Than Memories" as the last song on the EP. The lyrics may not always rhyme, but hey, who ever said that they have to? A good example of this is the chorus of "You Left Your Heart" which goes: "You left your heart and your note on the dashboard / I smiled as I read these words / Please don't let go of me"; which does not rhyme in the least, yet it somehow manages to catch my attention. Then on the other end, Stages & Stereos can hit me hard with some lyrics such as the start of "More Than Memories" which goes: "And we're falling faster every second that we waste on / Living in the moment 'til the moment's gone / But what've we got to lose," which to me are the deepest of all Stages & Stereos' lyrics.
It's easy to tell that these guys pour everything they have into the music that they play and are definitely worth checking out. We may see much better and greater things from Stages & Stereos in the future.
01. Save It for Someone Else
02. You Left Your Heart
03. All or Nothing
04. More Than Memories
