I absolutely HATE their old stuff, but if you give the new stuff a listen..... its much MUCH different than anything they have done before.

Honestly, I didn't see how Bring Me the Horizon could possibly improve on the extremely original blend of hardcore and death metal that they already perfected on their 2006 debut record, Count Your Blessings, but I was wrong. It's no surprise they were named the best newcomer by Kerrang! magazine in 2006 due to frontman Oli Syke's witty and refreshing lyrics in a genre plagued by unnecessary anger and overused cliches in addition to his unique vocal style with a screaming range that is truly unprecedented. Now that the whole Nottingham incident is behind him, you can tell it has given him a new confidence in his songwriting skills as this is clearly the most focused work of their young career and I for one can not wait to see where these truly unique and skilled Englishmen go next!

The thing with people nowadays is that everyone is so sucked up into one style of music... personally I listen to everything from shitty metalcore to jazz artists such as Charlie Hunter to flamenco artists such as Rodrigo Y Gabriella. I guess thinking a band such as BMTH could get better is wrong though.
I still give them props regardless.

And btw, I absolutely love converge, in fact I know a couple dudes in the band that own the studio God City Studios.

That's what I'm talking about. Give up the "golden days of metalcore" attitude. Yeah, the genre has slipped into mediocrity, but as far as metalcore bands go, Bring Me The Horizon is one of the best out.
