I dont know who to vote for. I decided to put this here because its not about a political issue, but about all of the issues and how it affects all of us.
Let me tell you my positions on things.
I support gay civil unions, but not marriages
I am pro gun control
I am pro life
I am anti FCC and decency laws (especially the FCC run by someone who knows exactly jack shit about what hes doing... mickey powell)
and am anti war
I am pro Israel
I am anti Iran
I have mixed feelings on the patriot act.
All this looks like Im pro Kerry, but I really dont think that he will be a good leader, and in case of another terror attack, I think America will need a strong leader to guide us through times like that. I also think Kerry has a fucked up foreign policy and his domestic policies (such as taxes), have the potential to create a Class conflict.
Basically I hate both candidates, but If I dont vote, then I wont be represented, and I need to feel like I am.
Currently, Im thinking that Im going to vote for Bush, even though I disagree with him on most of his thinking. Heres the real quesion that Im hoping you guys can help me with, is it better to support a strong leader that you hate, or a weak leader that you hate, just not as much as the other guy?

The dilemna of the American people. It really is sad that our country's politics have digressed into what it is today.

i'm wondering why you think kerry is so much weaker on defense.

Its not that I think that Kerry is weak on defense, I just dont think that he would be a good leader. Its one thing to be a senator from Massachusets, but to lead a country? Im not saying Bush is a great leader, but I think hes better than kerry would be, even though I disagree with Bush on almost every issue.

but why do you think he would be weaker? i mean, bush used to be just the governor of texas with no foreign experience before he became president. kerry is a senator that DOES have foreign experience, whose to say he won't be good?

i mean, in laymen's terms, you know bush blows with foreign policy, and kerry MIGHT blow. only one has a chance of being good with foreign policy.

Wait a minute, his idea on taxes could cause a what? We already have problems with that right now because Bush's tax cuts mainly affected the rich.

Oh yeah, cause Bush is a real charmer when it comes to foregin policy. On behalf of rest of the world; we really don't like that asshole.

Exactly. Bush's tax cuts meant that the lower class was paying a large percentage of their income to taxes, whereas the upper class pays a considerably smaller amount. Furthermore, Bush has added 10,000 pages to the tax code since entering office. Nothing could cause greater class seperation than the reforms Bush made in this presidency.

Finally, I think you should look at matters of healthcare and jobs, issues which are relevant also. I think you'll see that Bush's disasters in these two areas look to be vastly improved upon in Kerry's policy.

Don't, however, think that I'm biased. I come from a famously liberal family and have grown up harboing left views my entire life. I do, though, despise John Kerry as a presidential candidate and I do see where you're coming from.

But when you break apart the facts and look at what Bush has done, you have to see that Bush is a candidate who CREATED the very problems that you think Kerry can't handle. Why would somebody who allowed them to hapen in the first place be better in office? Let's not focus on what Bush will do when the next attack happens, but rather what Kerry will do to stop it.

Haha, yea. I don't exactly think that a war where 1,000 Americans have already died which, essentially, diverted attention away from the REAL threat which unleashed September 11th and ultimately was based on bullshit intelligence, violated the Geneva Conventions and was followed through without the consent of the UNITED NATIONS constitues as decent foreign policy either.

I won't try to debate here, because it isn't the politics forum...theis quiz is pretty good (not bad I guess), so it should give you an idea of which candidate you line up with the best
