Yes!
I'd love to.
This was meant to be based off the movie Awakenings. Look it up if you haven't seen it, it was fantastic.
"the alternative is unthinkable"
there is a fine line between nowhere and nothing
and sometimes i cross it into not much.
not much leads to none; none holds hands with nada.
sometimes i remember, but mostly i forget
that living in nothing means you aren't going anywhere fast:
my clock's been set at half-past-1926 for 39 years;
my speedometer constantly gets stuck at zero.
it's like i can't pay the price of fuel, so as a result
the taxes on my life have been hiked up beyond payable.
my body's gone bankrupt. i've been bled dry, and now
they're subletting out my bones to a tenant who can't
move out.
occasionally, i stand on the observation deck of nothing
and look out into a world that's not moving.
from time to time, i look at old memories
through a permanently damaged sieve.
but mostly, i stand on the border of nowhere and nothing
and consider crossing it into not much at all.
If you need me to explain the movie or the significance of some lines, I can.
Also, I used the "clocks" line in a poem that I posted here - I took it from this.

You are probably my favorite writer on here. I hope you know that Shauna.
I've got nothing. I loved it.

Ah James, come on! I know you can be nitpicky as all get out when you want. There has to be something.
I think I have to change the clocks line no matter what, now that I've used it in something else.
And thanks. :)
Minus the capitalization, I really didn't find anything to complain about either. It was impressive.

I was going to say that. But I think I actually LIKE IT without any capitalization.
It's really just great. Haha.

Eh, I don't. But that's just a personal thing.
It really is really good. I was going to post something, now I'm ashamed of it, haha.
Although Shauna(?), the second line was a bit confusing. I had to reread it a couple times, so if you can, maybe touch up on that, but it's not necessary.

Thanks. Do you think it would be better with the capitals intact?

Eh, it's not that important really. I personally would have enjoyed it if it was, but James apparently would not have, so I guess it's just a person's preference. So I suppose it's really up to you, if you like that style of not capitalizing, then don't change it.

I'd handwritten it without any capitals, so that's just the way I typed it up as well. Honestly, I don't know what it's like with them, so I'll have to see.

Nobody knows my name, it's Travis:wave:

At first reading, I thought you accidentally left a word in there that shouldn't have been in there. I might be a little tired, but the it into not much didn't process the first time for me, lol.

I somewhat agree, but you have to take it slow, and it makes sense. If you go rushing through it, it's confusing. Haha.

Nice to meet you, Travis. :-)
'It into not much'? 'It' being 'the line' doesn't make sense?

It wasn't that. I read it slow, but after I read that line I just kind of stopped. After I read the others lines it all came together and I felt stupid.
Nice to meet you, Travis. :-)

Nice to meet you as well.
Well, just the whole phrase just made me wonder if I read it wrong. With the 'sometimes' and 'not much', and 'it' and 'into' all in the same line. I'm sort of an idiot, and didn't read the next line, if I would have, it wouldn't have been a problem.

I found my brother's old tape recorder and have started using it. It's sweet. Haha. Only handheld, so one track, unfortunately.
My poetry teacher is awesome. She even has a book!

The Starting Line's sessions they did for We The People (before Drive-Thru bought them up) were awesome...
It's a band I kind of grew out of, but never lost an appreciation for. I think I'll be playing more from them today.

I should have took an poetry class. I never have. But with other classes and a full time job, I wouldn't have a time. What exactly goes on in a poetry class?

Well the first poetry class I took was just for reading and interpreting poetry. Now that I'm a creative writing major, the class I'm taking is basically a poetry workshop, we just sit there and write and learn about writing. haha

Ha, that must be a fun class then. I've always wondered if taking a poetry class would help my writing, but I suppose it would just give me more time to write then. ha

Not with cute boy. He's working tonight. I got my car taken away for a week because Jason stole my keys and started driving. My dad saw him, and the rest is history.

But you're warned - it's pop music. Nothing more! Hahahaha. (Truth is, Christie Dupree recommended them, and you have to yield to your future wife's recommendations. I'm friends with her on facebook. Ballin'!)
Have fun! Sucks about cute boy/the car.

Also, I should be posting a new song one of these days. The second verse needs lyrics.

I've been pretty good. School started. I love it (as of now, anyway. I'm sure once work catches up to me I'll be a wreck again.).
Did I post about my middle schoolers? I can't remember. Too many threads around here.

I still want to record new songs, I am reminded of it every time I see this thread. Hopefully after election day I'll have a lot of stress off my shoulders and return to writing things that aren't terrible.

Hahaha. Thank you. That's kinda weird/surprising, since I don't consider this very "good" at all. I can't wait til I get some proper stuff done. I'll be recording with two different friends soon. One will be very acoustic/piano-y and one more electronic (or just using instruments in reason), due to what each friend has.

There's Wedding Dresses (Correct). The EP will be re-upped too.

Maybe it does...
So since people read this thread more, thoughts on this?
I've been telling stories
While you've been writing books
But is it quantity or quality that matters?
Is it the twists or the hooks?
Because I'm too afraid
To ever pen more than a page
Let alone a chapter
Or developed characters
Or relationships that matter
The criticism, I could take.
But it's the disappointment
That would break me.
But you're unbreakable,
...you can't even bend.
You just don't care about or for
The critics or your fans, anymore.
And I don't think you ever did
How do you do it girl?
How do you do it girl?
How can you do it girl?
How can you do it girl?
How can you...
