I went outside just to walk
The trees were really tall and I felt small
I saw some cars that had crashed
And my hands got cut from touching their sharp glass
None of my friends were around
So I just walked through town
I didn't much care for the big billboard signs
They kept telling me to color inside the lines
And the chain stores were all far too smug
To them I was just another hungry little bug
I don't want to get caught under any thumb
Even though that's probably what's to come
But in the morning when I draw the curtains
I'll still know that nothing's ever certain
all the kids' eyes got blind from looking into the sun too long
there were too many dead mothers from their careless sons
everyone's face had a sneer stuck on there for ages
we watched the sun and the clouds fall smashing to the earth
everybody was in a panic and the girls all screamed
