Phantom of The Rock Opera

Green Day (http://www.greenday.com) are considering the movie angle for their recent resurrection of the lost art form know as the rock opera, American Idiot. The idea is purely speculation now, but the band is considering having someone write a screenplay based on the album.

I actually read an article from MTV.com about this. They said they definitely wouldn't do a Broadway play because it would be too weird to them. So no Broadway play. But I think a movie would be kind of interesting...Just have to wait and see.

Are you serious? American Idiot is just as overplayed on the radio as any other Green Day song, If not more so. The song is on Madden for god's sake. How can you say its not commercialized? And everyone and their dog is anti-bush so its not like they are making any bold statement.

Yeah man let's sing about flowers and rainbows. Music is about expressing what you feel from what i know, so why the hell not sing about the serious shit going on around you that affects us all (even me, and certainly you). Or you mean Green Day should ignore that just like you obviously try to do and sing about girls and masturbating instead just cause you want them to and don't want to to listen to the things they say.

And i bet you don't listen to rage either cause they have no flowers and/or rainbows.

But I would like to see it if it was made. Cause I really enjoyed this CD and it was pretty damn good. But hey, at least they are going to try to make a script idea. I think thats awesome of a band to do that. Look at Coheed..they are showing they have more talent to create CDs with a story so they can make a graphic novel. Thats just plain awesome.
