everybody really needs to stop with the "conor" comments with An Angle. EVERYONE has said it. It's old now. If you could critisize him for something else be my guest but it's just reallllllll old now.

Nah, thats not the issue... it's just the fact that drive-thru signed somebody that clearly has similar traits to another artist already out there. Instead of adding an artist who pioneers a new sound or something of that sort, they almost cause a competition between the two similar sounds hoping to push An Angle farther than Bright Eyes.

When was the last time DRIVE-THRU RECORDS signed a pioneer? I think they're lucky An Angle even signed with them.

want to hear a new comment about an angle?
an angle is the most original band i've ever heard.
there, i bet you that has never been said before nor will it ever be said again in a serious context.
If I Were An Angle, What Type Would I Be?
I'll give in to your setup....
Acute angle?
No, I'm going to go with obtuse. Because I know it's definitely not right.

I agree, Hellogoodbye is way different than anything else out there. Also, Steel Train was a very different signing for them at the time.

Well kids, since all of you bitch about An Angle being a bright eyes rip off band, I guess I'm going to start an An Angle rip off band. It should be fun. Then we'll all sound the same and love each other for it.

Haha, I'll help you... its like people don't expect other artists to sound like bands before them... its called "influences". So of course bands are going to sound like Bright Eyes, so everyone stop whining, if you don't like them, then don't listen to them, its that easy.

I dont think drive thru give a shit about statements like that one, they sign bands they think are good, not on the basis of peoples opinions.

(A) finch....(B) something corporate....(C) rx bandits....(D) steel train...
If you said (C), you're correct!
I like all these bands to some extent, but Rx is really the only original band of the bunch, because (A) adding screaming to pop-punk does not make you original, (B) neither does piano, and (D) biting from Phish is lame though it makes for cool times live.

Yeah bands are gonna sound similar to their influences, but An Angle sounds almost exactly like Bright Eyes, from the fake quivering Conor Oberst voice to the band's sound.
This is atrocious (sp?) and these guys deserve to burn in hell. Saddle Creek is one of the best indie labels out there, and drive thru is stealing from them.
