This show sounds amazing. I love Schwartzman and I just found out some more news on who is directing the pilot.

Alan Taylor, whose long list of directorial credits include episodes of “Sex and the City,” “Oz,” “Six Feet Under,” “Carnivale,” “Deadwood,” “Rome,” “Big Love” and “The Sopranos,” has been hired helm the pilot of HBO’s “Bored To Death.”

Scripted by somebody named Jonathan Ames, the comedy project stars Jason Schwartzman (“Rushmore,” “Shopgirl,” “Marie Antoinette,” “The Darjeeling Limited”) as a writer who, reeling from a break-up, starts pretending to be a private detective.

It just sounds like perfect material for Schwartzman.

Found this description off Yahoo! news too.

“Following a painful breakup with his girlfriend, his character decides to emulate his heroes from the novels of Raymond Chandler and Dashiell Hammett. He takes out an ad pretending to be a private detective and starts taking cases -- solving some and making others worse."

First episode was good, I was expecting some more exposition but it really just gets right into it. Not sure how I felt about that bit, but otherwise its great and I can't wait to see more.
