does anyone really like this cd... i havent heard anything but the single and cant help but say this band is past their day. but i dont form opinions on one thing. i'd like to know what other people think.

I think the new disc is great. The single is good, not great, and it is FAR from one of the standout tracks on this cd. You should give it a listen. Try "holiday" or "blvd. of broken dreams", those are my two favs.

i like it. it's not fantastic or amazing or anything, but isn't disappointing. it's good solid music.

forgive me but i like politics making it's way back into what the 'mainstream' considers punk rock, or just hard rock. i like the song and from what i've heard off the disc, it's much better. never been a huge green day fan - especially that 'time of your life' single (but just my opinion), but i like the way they've matured. then again, i think a long time green day fan would be the best person to say how he feels this release stacks up.

I think the new cd is by far their best cd, it's incredible. Definetly in my top three of the year. Seeing them play the cd live from song 1 to song 13 was one of the most amazing concert experiences i have ever witnessed.

ive been a green day fan for a decade, since dookie came out and i was 10 years old...
i thought they were past their day with the release of their last CD
but i've had this CD for about 2 weeks and i've barely listened to anything else...
they've complete outdone themselves, and released something really good

I have heard the three best cd's all year in the span of 5 days.

1. Green day - awesome. whoever said this band is past their prime is a chach.

2. Say Anything - I jumped on board a little late here, but I'm glad I did

3. Jimmy Eat World - A song from their last album aptly describes this one: Sweetness.

And that's including Dookie.

The artistic value is just insane.

It will be amazing to see those two 9 minute songs played live.
