Dead Heart Bloom - Fall In
Record Label: KEI Records
Release Date: June 20, 2008
Who?
This incredibly mellow indie group from New York City sound nothing like their name. If you were expecting some Evanescence type goth group, then you picked the wrong review to be reading.
How is it?
With Radiohead vocal drawls and swelling Coldplay guitars, this isn’t the most original group out there right now, but they’re not bad at all. I mean, this could be interchanged with some The Bends cover band at a local bar any night of the week, but musically it’s well pulled off. EP’s are EP’s for a reason: hopefully this was a quick dive into really, really standard music before Dead Heart Bloom’s evolution into something unique. That’s the hope, anyway. If this was a full-length, though, I’m sure I wouldn’t be the only person annoyed with what we can dub Remy Zero syndrome: the being of Radiohead.
01. Is This the Way?
02. Come Back
03. Nothing Will Break Me Now
04. Our Last Martyr
05. Here We Are
Radiohead; Coldplay; South
