I can't name them all, but I'm just curious what you think the best venue is in the New York, New Jersey, Philly Area.

I've always loved shows at Starland. Electric Factory is ok they just put barricades up in the worst places imaginable. Nokia Theater is pretty sweet too

The Northstar is where it's at if you really wanna see the band up clode. the venue is the size of a class room, its really awesome. Electric factory has a high stage and its big so your not crammed. The tla's floor goes higher as it goes to the back so that everone can see, Plus the Tla books the best shows.

Yea I have to almost agree.. The Northstar bar might possibly be one of the best smaller venues around. The sound in there is great.. and it is very intimate. Anywhere you stand you have a great spot.

Yea man. Out of the bigger venues around. Thats the one where it still feels intimate, but when you look around the place is huge. I love standing up top and looking down at the bands.

Electric factory blows. It's just too big and parking around there sucks major ass. TLA rocks (but parking can be a bitch sometimes) so I voted for that one.
But yeah, where is the Troc? I've seen shows upstairs and downstairs there and both kicked major ass.

hands down best venue ever was The Downtown may it rest in peace. The next best i think is the old North Six... the thing it turned into now... is a complete 180 from what that place was all about. The Knitting Factory is glorious... may it soon rest in peace. Cant forget the now dead CBGBs. If anyone ever saw a show (taking back sunday/coheed) at Backstreet Blues they'd surely never forget that place. ugh so many great venues lost.
Of still surviving venues ugh ummm Irving i guess? I think it has better sound than most of the others even if it is kinda big and semi awkward

Fcuk.. your right... Totally forgot about that place. They used to have more/bigger shows there, but it has died out over the past few years.

I voted Electric Factory, just b/c of the homeless people that infest that venue when there's a concert. A bum once offered to "blow bubbles" in my brother's asshole for a cigarette, and I'm not joking.

i agree about the troc i love it there
first time i went there i saw daggermouth and iata and to this day that was my favorite show. i believe a big part of that is because of where it was, the troc

R.I.P. Birch Hill!!!! Best shows were there back in the day. Like when all you 16 year olds were 8 and had no idea what a show was. Also, Starland is terrible. Its always over sold and way too many youngsters getting picked up by there parents after a show. Plus it's location sucks. The Asbury Convention Hall is def the best current NJ venue although they never have shows there anymore. I like the set up there and how spacious it is and how you can go upstairs in the tunnels to cool off or just go sit in the seats.

Birch Hill was the shit. The Starting Line wrote a song about Birch Hill. Too bad most kids will never experience a venue like that place.

The Church in Philly is the best, hands down. Anything else can fight to the death for 2nd as far as I can tell.

Didn't forget. Don't Worry. The only one I actually forgot was The Troc. But like I said I was not going to list them all.

or deja 1, cbgb's. wetlands, backstreet blues, local 7, knitting factory!.. now those are classic venues!.. if anyone says the donkey or starland are good venues.. go out and explore where the real music is!
I'm surprised no one's mentioned Roseland...I love that place.
