Alkaline Trio (www.alkalinetrio.com)'s drummer, Derek Grant, has apparently been playing with Good Charlotte (http://www.goodcharlotte.com) in Europe and could be seen drumming with them on Conan O'Brien. My only question is, why Derek why?

I noticed that last night as well. What happened to the bald guy that was always with them? Did he quit when they asked him to dress uber-black like the rest of them are now?

Was that him with them on TRL, because whoever was playing the set sure had the same style as he does. He is awesome by the way, wonder why he would lower himself to playing with the Madden brothers and I bet he loves playing "I Just Wanna Live" live.

chris (the bald guy) is still in the band hes just having some joint problems right now so hes getting that worked on, derek is just filling in for a little while. honestly.

haha i was noticing that night on conan. and they did the song horrible. regardless of what you think of the song, their performance was ludacris. conan itself was hilarious last night, though. that dude never did burst though...(the guy who was really pissed off and would burst into anger at any moment)

i really dont think it's a big deal. they asked him to play drums while they were drummerless and he said "sure". artists lend their help to other bands. you know this is not a permanent thing. skiba lent his back up vocals to a nfg song and james dewees is on the road with nfg. i never thought dewees would do something like that, but i guess it's just a thing of the business. i dont own any GC cds, nor do i find them the least bit talented, but i think what derek is doing is his own decision and just helping some people out.
i still cant get over the fact that good charlotte doesnt have their own drummer.
They DO have their own drummer, Chris. He's been part of GC since the release of TYATH. The only reason he's not there now is because he's having very bad joint problems so so he's in physical therapy for it.

maybe cuz goon twin #1 (aka the singer guy) has stolen matt skiba's entire look, when Derek was asked to drum he could have very well thought it was Matt! ha. And once he finally realized what he agreed to, it was much too late. seems like the only reasonable explanation to me.

i'm currently listening to Say Anything, Northstar, Underoath, Built to Spill, Appleseed Cast, Casket Lottery and Trophy Scars. i rarely listen to my friend's band.

Yeah i don't really like GC either but i think it's kinda weird how people at this site bitch so much about them and make jokes about them. I bet that if they didn't dress so "punk" and would sing about girls and flowers (not really sure what they're actually singing about though, so please don't be smartasses) you'd all worship them. Sure, they're exploiting the scene and not really a punk band. But neither are and so did and/or does (or try to) half of the bands on this site. But on another note if Offspring and Green Day wouldn't have been on MTV exploiting the scene making millions on it 10 years earlier i wouldn't be involved in the punkscene today and certainly not write this post. Fuck i don't even know if i would've known what punk is. And i certainly wouldn't have known such great bands as; Anti-flag, Unseen, Nofx, Alkaline trio, Closet Monster and on and on. I don't even know if i would've been alive. But anyway my point is that although you might hate them (and they're contradicting themselves and are hypocrites) at least they're out there showing something different from Britney Spears and bling-bling gangsta rap, something interesting that might make people realize that there are other shit out there and soon they find out about all of your fall out boy, yellowcard, senses fail or fuck who knows it might even end with The Unseen.

occaisionally i do get extra cheese, ive gotton double thwaps of sour cream and salsa before too, the best one i ever had tho, they like had enough steak to give me 2/3 steak so for no charge they threw in a full serving of barbacoa, it was busting at the seems. dont like beans tho, never have, never will :blah:

most of the bands i've been listening to haven't even been talked about on AP.net in a long time. i don't know when the last time was when i saw something about Appleseed Cast, Casket Lottery or Trophy Scars posted. i don't think i've ever seen something posted about Built to Spill. Say Anything and Northstar deserve all the hype they get.

my roomate likes GC and he was playing their new album the other day and i have to say it's not that bad sepite the half ass attempt at rap-rock on there. the only track i really dug though was "ghost of you"...i thought it had some cool new order-ish type synths shit on it.
