Harvard is an band you should look out for in '08. Reminiscent of At the Drive-In, Minus the Bear, Glassjaw, and Brazil. They have the "Animals Ep" out right now which is available on iTunes, but they have a lot of new material which you may hear live and on videos posted on youtube. They're newer material is a better development of their own sound.

I just saw Harvard live tonight at The blind tiger in Greensboro, NC. It was such an incredible concert.......The first song (which I believe is off the not yet released 2 album) seriously sounded like the end of the world, in the best way possible. One of the guitarists even played tom and xylophone. And the singer had a pedalboard and used a line 6 dl4 to loop and delay his vocals, it was so incredible/trippy!

These guys are super cool, love their LP. I'm really surprised this doesn't have more posts.

Also, some really good bands seem to come out of the Florida indie scene these days.

I believe LP 2 is completely finished, cannot wait for it to come out. I heard new songs from it last night and it is the best material they have ever written.

how does it sound compared to their previous stuff ? the demos they posted last year sounded like they were heading in a softer/moodier direction

edit : i remember hearing some snippets of this song in one of their tour videos, interesting

looking forward to it. their debut didn't have much staying power for me but it has some good cuts.

The first new song they played was extremely rhythmic. It started with just a steady bass line and soft drum beat. But the ending turned into a terrifying heavy/ambient part that reminded me a bit of o'brother's Garden Window. These songs have a lot of vocal effects - looping and delay. But absolutely a more mature sound than The Inevitable and I.
