View Full Version : reggie and the full effect ~ farewell tour
i went to the first night of the tour. i dont want to give too much away, because it was cool being surprised for once at a show, but expect fluxuation, and maybe common denomenator. only two songs from the new album. the rest was classic reggie.(the songs youd expect), maybe some new/unreleased fluxuation. james was on his game. very funny. very entertaining. and he was downing pbr. great show. maybe ill post a setlist when i sober up.
just got back from the show, it was good fun. got some song videos with my crappy digital camera, will post those here tomorrow.
also he comented something from the farewell tour, that i don't know if i should spoil it for everyone...but it has to do with Kiss (the band)

Thank God for you. I was there all night but around 11:15 I got preoccupied with something (girl texting me) so I completely spaced out during one of the last songs and had to leave before Common Denominator performed. I guess it was worth it but the rest of my night after I got home went to shit. So I just wanted to find out the last few songs to complete my own setlist.
I managed to get a few videos, but i will upload those when I get home.
I like Leathermouth more than Warship...+ James plays drums :)
posting a setlist is not spoiling a show. just post it.
they played my favorite song Happy V-day

I'm so psyched for this tour.
I'll post what I have from my setlist. Some of this could be wrong, I'm not that familiar with all of the songs. I'll put question marks in parentheses for the ones I'm unsure of.

Congratulations Smack and Katy

Thanx For Stayin

"Crazy Asian Lady" (New Fluxuation song, only one verse written, no title but the title I gave is the gist of it)
"Snickers Bar" (2nd new Fluxuation song, only one verse as well, James said it was about a Snickers Bar then after the song said he was joking and it was about a woman's orgasm.)
Take Me Home, Please
Get Well Soon
Raining Blood
Gloves (?)
Dwarf Invasion (? I'm not sure if this was played or not. I left before the song started but heard him say "this song is about midgets" so I only assumed that's what they were gonna play. They also said it was going to be their last song so I'm guessing the show was over with this one)

last night's show was insane, the setlist above is correct and it was amazing. in between almost every song James would drop some knowledge or tell stories about the songs or just random stuff. topics included miley cyrus, her dad, cute is what we aim for, wesley willis, vagrant records, reggie bucks/babysitting and women's orgasms. I have 5 videos from his set I'm in the process of uploading I can post later.
also, James plays drums for leathermouth, frank from mcr/leathermouth plays bass for ratfe and fran from fata sings in warship and plays drums for ratfe.

The funniest part of that whole thing was me getting in going "wow, this band is really bad....it sounds like all of those From Autumn to Ashes songs that I didn't really like....the singer even looks and sounds like that dude" Then when he came out to play drums for Reggie I still didn't even put two and two together. It wasn't until he called him by name that I realized who it was. I didn't even realize that was James playing drums for Leathermouth or that Frank from MCR had some other band. I don't pay attention that much to things like that.
I wish I was going to this tour, I hope they makde a DVD
that'd be great

most of the videos posted are fluxuation songs...for those he has the music programmed and just sings and dances around flamboyantly...but for the actually reggie songs, he does jam out on the keyboards and it was a very exciting show...

I can take pics of the reggie merch when I get home and post it. Reggie merch is 3 black shirts and one black hoodie. Leathermouth merch is 3 or 4 shirts and one hoodie, also a poster of the band like the pic from alt press. I think mcr chris had a lot of stickers but I don't remember seeing any shirts from him.

I was at the Reggie show in Denver last night... I can honestly say it was one of the best shows I've been to all year.
Not only did the opening acts blow me away beyond my expectations (Warship, Leathermouth, AND MC Chris were all kick ass) but James made everyone inside the theater have a great time.
The Reggie setlist was identical to the one posted on the first page of this thread, although he did also play "Apocalypse WOW!" at the request of a random fan. You could also tell James was having a fun time, he did a lot of audience interaction, and gave funny little quips between every song (even talking about Coalesce). He also assured to everyone that Reggie will be back on tour in around six months (!!!)

I was at the Chicago show last night and it was bizarre. My friends and I got there about 20 minutes before the doors opened and the first thing we noticed was all of these 8-15 year old girls decked out in homemade Leathermouth, We "heart" Frank, and My Chemical Romance t-shirts. Also, Moms. Yeah like for real Moms with their kids. Has this been happening at the other shows? So we scratch our heads and wonder if these girls had even heard Leathermouth, but whatever. The doors open and these girls go straight for the barricade. I'm guessing these girls have probably been to a lot of Fall Out Boy shows so they know what to expect.
We kind of stand off to the side and David Costa comes out about 30 minutes before the actual printed start time. He comes out doing this like Hardcore thing screaming and rocking out. Then BOOM!! kicks it into hip-hop mode. We totally got Punk'd. He had this goofy chubby hype man who you couldn't hear his "hype" at first and David told the sound guy to turn up the "hype vocals" which made me chuckle. It was over before it started and we just kind of shrugged our shoulders. The other weird thing is that all the little girls were there to see this dude too. I guess he has some connection to Frank/Leathermouth.
Warship played next and they are just Epic. Songs are long and heavy, the band was really tight. I would guess that whenever they put out an album it's going to be super awesome.
Now here is the moment we were waiting for Leathermouth cause I had to imagine that if anyone in the crowd started moving at all some Soccer moms were going to get their beers spilled. So Leathermouth starts and they were pretty nutty. A throwback to classic hardcore bands, I'm sure you have heard their demos. Towards the end of their set some people finally decided it was time to "open a pit" and sure enough PISSED MOMS EVERYWHERE. One woman did in fact spill her beer on herself.
MC Chris played next and he was hysterical and awesome and I love him, and that's too many ands for one sentence.
Alright so now at this point you would figure that the middle school would have cleared out, but you would be wrong. See Frank plays bass in Reggie on this tour, and that's when I realized these girls payed 20 dollars to be 10 feet away from the guy from My Chemical Romance. So with that figured out I settled in to enjoy Reggie, the setlist was pretty much what you have already read. He also talked about the Get Up Kids getting back together next year, how this wasn't really the last Reggie tour(OMG SPOILER!!),his Mom and Dad were there which made for some funny conversations. He talked about the Fluxuation album that was almost done and played parts of two new songs. All in all pretty fun, pretty good show.
HOWEVER! Just when you thought shit couldn't get any weirder, shit be flippin SON! Earlier in the set James made a joke talking about Steve Looker's straight edgyness, and some dude threw a beer at him. Then another. Steve then mentioned wanting to fight the dude, they played their last song(before encore) and I guess Steve and the guy who threw the shit at him like actually did confront each other. James came out for the encore and said they were thinking about calling off the rest of the show. I'm not sure what happened but they ended up finishing the show as planned but like James had to come out and scold the crowd for being meatheads.
One of the weirder shows I have been to in my 15 or so years of going to shows, but all in all a fun time.

i went to the show in detroit. it was a good time. the venue[the magic stick] doesnt like to specify wether the time they put on the flyers means show time or door time. we thought it was door time but it ended up the show started at 8, and we got there around 9 and leathermouth and warship had already played. we got to see mc chris and he was downright hilarious and put on a great show. then reggie came on and of course he put on a great show too. some kid payed james ten dollars to play raining blood and he did. he took off his shirt and his shorts and played just in his boxers with dollar bills hanging from them haha. james said he was gonna put out a cd for fluxuation next year [i think this was already posted here though] and played 2 fluxuation songs, one ive never heard. reggie played alot of old stuff which was great. he played like maybe one song off crappy town which was j train. he also crowdsurfed too.
and what the person up there said about little frank iero fangirls, SO true. my friend and i stuck around for a while after the show to meet reggie and there was a handful of girls decked out in hottopic gear with the eyemakeup and everything telling frank their life stories. you could tell they just went to the show for a chance to meet frank from ~~*my chemical romance**~~ haha. and sadly reggie never came out =/
james also said something about CIWWAF...something like "cute is what we aim for... thats not real emo... i know what emo is, i was in coalesce! and then i joined the get up kids and became THAT GUY." he also said he hated miley cyrus because "she can sit her ass at home and sell her fucking merch at walmart for 8 bucks! that bitch!"
heres a setlist from what i can remember. not in order either.

Tonight was the first of 4 Reggie shows I'm going to this week. It was pretty awesome. I wasn't too into the openers. They all played well and were good but not good music when you have a pounding headache. but whatever. The Frank Iero fan girls are SUPER annoying. Avoid standing next to them at all costs. Wearing their home made "FR" "A" and "NK" shirts. ugh. I hate having all negative things to say, maybe I'll write a better happier review after some sleep.

Starland was my 3rd Reggie show this week.
I yelled out "I'm going Sunday" and James started talking about Philly mentioning that there was going to be no curfew. I'd like it if that meant more songs but...the band only knows the songs they play every night.
One more Reggie show for me. I really wanna meet James and tell him that I blew all my fucking money on Reggie shows haha.

quick recap, starland, sept 12:
got there for warship, they were very good but didn't seem to have the energy of the other bands (maybe just not my thing)
leathermouth was very very good. they played for less than 30 minutes but it was non stop insanity
mc chris was very funny and had the crowd going the whole time.
*both mc chris and frank iero were making fun of the girls who were there simply to see frank, and i noticed that many of them simply turned their back on mc chris or left the front row after leathermouth*
and reggie.
fucking spot on the whole time
not a dissapointing song in the set that included happy v day, congrats smack and katy, raining blood, F.O.O.D. (no one knew the song haha), get well soon, what the hell is stipulation, J train, V train, better for you, girl why'd you run away, your girlfriends hate me. probably more.
encore was the new flux songs, some classics, and dwarf invasion by common denominator

How are you going to miss going to Reggie shows if they will continue to tour?
I don't know about you, but at the Denver show James clearly said to the crowd that Reggie wasn't over and that he'd be back on tour in roughly 6 months.
The poster for the show said "Farewell Tour (According to KISS)" referring to the fact that KISS still tours regardless of the fact that they've been long broken up.

Yeah, I know. The Final Tour thing is just to sell tickets. but regardless the last time I saw Reggie was two years ago and that felt like forever. and I've grown attached to going to Reggie shows especially this week after going to 4 of the shows.
and he said he'd be back with either Fluxuation or the Get Up Kids in like 6 months. and I would be ecstatic for a GUK reunion but Reggie is a very different kind of show.
I talked to the guys in the Full Effect this time around and they said it probably wouldn't be the last tour but odds are he won't be playing a lot of these songs again. and we all know they won't be playing the unknown songs on the records.

Philly was fantastic. I was a little disappointed with the end though. I mean, the fake blood everywhere, okay that's fun and ridiculous, but I thought they should have went out with a good old classic.

I think Dwarf Invasion is about as classic as it gets considering no Reggie single would be a good closer. but I do think Apocolypse Wow as an encore would've been amazing. and I got the setlist and they had V Train on there and didn't play it which was kindof a bummer.
Although it'd never happen, my dream closer would be "Playing Dead" haha
