it's just so creative, it twists around all of the conventional rules of hip hop in that it can be socially conscious, playful, fresh, street, fun and it conforms all of those facets into such an entertaining album. big boi keeps it grounded in the regular rap dialect (which he has great talent at) and andre 3000 is just a fucking artist. Not to mention all of the beats and most of the production completely came from the duo. idk i love all kinds of music, not hip hop too much generally, but this shit just blows my mind. its the player and the poet and i've been listening to it everyday for months.

That's a pretty bold statement. I haven't listened to this album but I highly doubt Outkast would ever be able to make an album I'd consider even one of the best of all time.

How so? If you don't just write it off as radio rap you can see how inspired it actually is. Outkast has always been a group that isn't taken as seriously as their message. It's the only album that carries over the gravity of funk (in its heyday)'s purpose and still manages to coat it in the same silliness that made Parliament Funkadelic and similar acts marketable.

Edit: unless you weren't referring to me because I agree that it clearly isn't the best album of all time.

Stankonia, while clearly not the best album ever made, is the last hip-hop album I purchased that I could listen to from beginning to end without skipping over a single song. Definitely one of the top 5 hip-hop albums ever made.
