View Full Version : People who got fat after high school

It's just really disappointing to see. Especially the hot ones.

You know how it is (well, maybe)... you come across an old high school colleague (like, someone you knew, but weren't really friends with) that you haven't seen in a few years, exchange a few words out of courtesy and then part ways.

But you can't remember a word you said because the whole time you were looking at them you were thinking "Damn, you really let yourself go", or "What a waste, you used to be hot too", or "Treadmill, bitch, heard of one?"

It's disheartening. What the hell happened? Did your metabolism suddenly fuck up? Or did you just stop swimming? You never used to be a porker, now you've got more rolls than a bakery. Maybe it's that data entry job that has you sitting on your ass eight hours a day. Fuck.

Shame. What a damn shame.

There's a girl who graduated a year after me, she used to be pretty skinny and pretty hot. I didn't see her my entire freshman or soph year of college. Saw her this summer I'm fairly sure she's put on about 60 pounds. Like DAMN.

I find it funny to see or find out how ex girlfriends turned out after high school. I have on ex who left me our junior year because she said i didn't seem to have a life plan (yea, i was in high school, to busy partying at the time). So now i'm chillin in life, makin $ and living on my own, but i ran into her when i was visiting my home town a few months ago, and she's livin in her parents guest house with her husband, has 2 kids and one on the way, gained weight, and has no job, and apparently dropped out at the end of her senior year of HS. I guess i'm glad i didn't follow her into her life plan.

I lost 35 lbs my senior year of HS when I got mono and haven't put it back on, going to a school with horrible food for my first year and a half of college surely helped.

I was 135 lbs and 5'11" when I graduated high school, i.e. one skinny little motherfucker. When I got to college, I gained 75 lbs my freshman year. Mostly because of a medicine they put me on at the end of my senior year of HS, but it was ridiculous none the less. I've lost some weight since then, so I don't look so fat anymore, but it kind of surprised me. It just seemed like hordes of fat appeared in me out of nowhere.

I think this goes for a lot of high schools, at least small-town schools. I only associate with one kid from my class, but then again, I only hung out with a handful of them. The majority of my friend circle were from other schools.

That's because she got married, not because she was out of high school. Never put a ring on your girl, she will gain 1 pound instantaneously and will gain another every day until she is of whale size.

I gained 60 pounds in six months my junior year of high school because of a medicine I was on. Before that I was really skinny. I'm just now starting to lose the weight because I am not on the medicine anymore. I lost like 25 lbs in 2 months.

My ex got REALLY fat and he goes to my gym and completely avoids me. Haha.

Our high school was pretty bitchy and competitive looks wise and they weighed us a lot so I think I went to 110 during final year and exams.

I agree. It's so weird seeing people from high school who have just gone uhh.. nowhere.

What defines "nowhere"? Just because someone doesn't take the traditional route of going straight to college after high school, I think, doesn't constitute as going "nowhere". Sounds like you just made a huge generalization, without really thinking it through.

That being said, when my group of friends go to bars, that a lot of my high school class frequents I tend to pass. I have nothing against them, it's just that I would rather spend my time with a few good friends, than spend my time at a bar where you can hardly hear anything, with some people I am okay friends with from high school.

Speaking of hot twins, we had some that graduated last year and they had the best tits this high school has ever seen. Now one of them is dating the school cop who they used to always go on ride alongs or whatever with. The fucked up thing is that I'm pretty sure he left his wife for her and he has a kid or two.

a patient of mine lost 60 pounds with wii fit...

stretching is a great for fat loss...when you tear the muscle which is essentially what stretching is, your body has to burn energy (glucose and lipids-fats) to repair it.....win win.....stretch for 25 mins a day while watching tv....and in a month you'll be pleasantly surprised...

it sounds rather "foolish," but it has been proven...

it decreases the reuptake and also replenishes the serotonin levels (the happy neurotransmitter) in the brain.

hold for 10-15 mins....slowly come down from the position...and enjoy the rest of your day....

doing this daily has done wonders....

it is backed in the new england journal of medicine..and by me...tried and true.

sighs....I don't have time to get technical per se....take bodybuilding for example..when they do a bicep curl..they are tearing. YES TEARING the muscle apart, and it gets bigger when it heals, stretching applies the same concept only less intense. I wouldn't have passed my board exam if I didn't know what I was talking about. Don't confuse tearing with spraining and injuring.

you don't? you seem to have plenty of time to spend on ap. The markets are closed, day trading is over, all the diabetics are at home, sit back and relax and school me with some actual scientific evidence please!

which board exam did you take that required this information? you honestly don't know what you're talking about. I'm not confusing tearing with anything. I know what torn muscles are, which apparently you don't.

here, since you're not willing to actually back up your statement (because you can't, perhaps?) I'll be happy to show you some links to what a TORN muscle actually is:

http://www.ehow.com/about_5082885_symptoms-torn-muscle-tissue.html

http://www.healthhype.com/torn-muscle-symptoms-and-treatment.html

What Is a Torn Muscle?

Torn muscle or muscle strain refers to a partial or complete rupture of the fibers of the muscle, causing pain or inability to move a particular part of the body.
Causes

A torn muscle is often a result of a sudden unbalanced force acting on a particular muscle, which is beyond the normal capacity of the muscle, thus making it fall apart. This frequently occurs in athletics and outdoor sports. Untrained weightlifting, absence of warmup, blunt trauma, etc., are common factors leading to muscle tear.

Stretching is a form of physical exercise (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_exercise) in which a specific skeletal muscle (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skeletal_muscle) (or muscle group) is deliberately elongated to its fullest length (often by abduction (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abduction_%28kinesiology%29) from the torso) in order to improve the muscle's felt elasticity (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elasticity) and reaffirm comfortable muscle tone (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Muscle_tone).[ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stretching#cite_note-0)

trading ends at 4:30, and it is okay that I was misunderstood. I see your "proof," but I was trying to paint a picture, when you lift weights, you tear muscle, which is the type of stretching I was referring to...which you can do with body weight...aka ..yoga...which was the original topic.

yes, trading ends at 4:30, it's nearly 7pm here on the east coast and 6pm in the midwest, your point?

honestly, if you would just stop using the word "tearing" you might sound a lot more intelligent. when you lift weights you do not *tear* the muscle. I don't think I can get that through your head any more than I have already attempted.

Trying to educate you is obviously futile because you will continue to spread misinformation even when shown you are incorrect. Ugh, I have better things to do than this. Peace.

But for the outsiders looking in...stretch stretch...its uber healthy..just don't tear anything;-)

You can put more than one thought into a single post, and there is an edit button...you don't have to post 5 times in a row every single time.

Um he is right, yeah you don't completely tear the muscle but when you do yoga exercise/weight-lifting you cause micro-tears in the muscle, that is how you build/elongate the muscle.

neither of you are correct. you are not tearing the muscles.

http://www.runtheplanet.com/trainingracing/stretching/chap1-whathappens.asp

The stretching of a muscle fiber begins with the sarcomere (see section Muscle Composition (http://www.runtheplanet.com/trainingracing/stretching/chap1-composition.asp)), the basic unit of contraction in the muscle fiber. As the sarcomere contracts, the area of overlap between the thick and thin myofilaments increases. As it stretches, this area of overlap decreases, allowing the muscle fiber to elongate. Once the muscle fiber is at its maximum resting length (all the sarcomeres are fully stretched), additional stretching places force on the surrounding connective tissue (see section Connective Tissue (http://www.runtheplanet.com/trainingracing/stretching/chap1-connective.asp)). As the tension increases, the collagen fibers in the connective tissue align themselves along the same line of force as the tension. Hence when you stretch, the muscle fiber is pulled out to its full length sarcomere by sarcomere, and then the connective tissue takes up the remaining slack. When this occurs, it helps to realign any disorganized fibers in the direction of the tension. This realignment is what helps to rehabilitate scarred tissue back to health.

When a muscle is stretched, some of its fibers lengthen, but other fibers may remain at rest. The current length of the entire muscle depends upon the number of stretched fibers (similar to the way that the total strength of a contracting muscle depends on the number of recruited fibers contracting). According to SynerStretch you should think of "little pockets of fibers distributed throughout the muscle body stretching, and other fibers simply going along for the ride". The more fibers that are stretched, the greater the length developed by the stretched muscle.

That is assuming stretching in idyllic situations, but when you stretch the muscle in terms of gaining more flexibility, and to increase length micro-tears do occur. When you do yoga and weight-lifting micro-tears happen all the time.

I think micro-trauma happens in weight training. I'm not sure about yoga though?

But micro-tears cause soreness. I don't think it's good to cause them every day or anything.

I find it worse/more embarrassing to see the girls who got pregnant and/or married straight out of high school. It's like, did you not want to have a little bit of a free future before all that? I couldn't imagine doing that so young.

But anyway. I sort of did the opposite. I was overweight during high school and have been working on losing it after.

personally, i love when you run into people you went to school with, and you barely recognize them [cause they're actually hot now]
especially if you were friends with them before they were hot.

I got fat after high school. I used to date the big girls, but they all let me go after I gained a bit of weight. I couldn't pull pussy to save my life. It sucks. And now the 'chubby hairy dude' trend is in, yet I still can't manage.
