I like Marilyn manson's music and it sucks that he isnt going to come out with any more records. And about the shock value remark, every artist has thier way of grabing people's attention. And for marlyn it comes easy because all he has to do is be him self.

the way manson presents himself is not "being himself". that is not being real, no matter who you are, it is not natural. he is going against the grain of human nature and that is a fact, because no one would dress like that if they were "being themself" it is so obvious that he is trying to be something different.

Yes, but Manson's genius lies in his ability to produce shock value that is accepted and even praised by the masses while maintaining the image that he is underground. It's like Homestar Runner. Every kid in the world thinks that Homestar is underground. Back to Manson: I think his music blows, but he's definitely a bright man. i think its awesome he got this role. he's almost done with music and now he wants to start acting. it's incredible how we forget about him and yet he comes into things like a punch in the face.i remember when he came out with antichrist,everyone hated him (parents meaning evryone) imagine them when they see a remake of alice and manson is jammin a sweet role. god this guy really made a good career by shocking people and giving us somehting to bitch or yell YOURE THE MAN too.i give him crdit and cant wait for this movie.

he is going to continue making music. before the best of came out he was planning to quit and release it as his final cd, however while shoot "the heart is deceitful above all things" he realized that he didn't want to pick up the pieces of his life and keep making music. if you read some of his recent interviews, he talks a lot about it.

This movie has very high expectations for me. I think Manson could take the character a long way. He's a very interesting person and always has something insightful to say/sing about, whether people disagree with the style or not. He's very well read, and very thoughtful. I think I'm more excited for this movie than the Willie Wonka remake.

P.S. Manson was in a previous movie with Seth Green, Macaulay Culkin, and Dylan McDermott. It was a trippy drug movie called Party Monster. This movie is weird, but odd enough to make my movie collection. Green, Culkin, and Manson as "fabulous" homosexuals. Weirded out yet?

His music may suck, but it is his music, which he does write. So he gets plenty of credit from me.

I see that looking forward to a movie is the equivalent of worshipping it. Interesting point of view you have. And everone on here loves his music...wait, only one person says he likes the music and another another said that he has some "catchy" songs. If you actually read the posts instead of assuming you know what they say, you'd notice that very few people here actually like his music and/or are impressed simply by his "shock value." Most are impressed by his intelligence and market-savvy.

I personally want to see the movie because the book was awesome and I think Manson will play the role well.
