i have a kodak easy share. i had the 6330 but that model isnt sold anymore and i just got a new one. this one is the 7530. it is really good. easy to use and easy to put on the comp. id recommend it. also get the camera dock. it helps recharge ur camera and puts the pics on ur comp

yeah i have a kodak easy share one too, i like it. it's really easy to use, although if you go on long trips, you have to bring along the camera dock to recharge. besides that, it's great.

a good affordable one is a high-end HP. I think RadioShack has a nice 5.0 megapixel for under $300. I dunno if that's the right quality range you're looking for or whatnot

thanks guys. I forgot to mention that i'll be using it with a mac, but I'm not sure if that's a problem for most digital cameras that our out now.....do you think an HP would work with mac? I highly doubt....but maybe

i've got a sony um...i can't rember now, but i'll look when i get home. i've also got a canon eos digital rebel (slr). it's a really good camera, but it might not be in your price range. my school has a casio one that's 5.0 mpx, and was around 300. i use it occasionally and it's nice.

I agree with this guy, i'm an avid photographer and Nikon make the best lenses hands down and their point and shoot camera's are really good. I started with I nikon 4500 great camera. The 4300 is a good choice because it's quite compact. Go to dpreview.com or cnet.com and you can get reviews and prices on cameras there.

IF your gonna go with the best, go with a canon.Best money can buy. Some models can be pretty expensive. All the kodak cams are really good as well.

also get a good memory card or you wont be able to take many pics. i got a 512mb card for 50...it was on sale. circuit city is good for those and has good deals on cams

i love my canon. i'm extremely careful with it, because you have to be. i'm pretty paranoid, but with 1000-14000 dollars worth of equipment, you would be too. my camera with a kit lens and a 1GB memory card + shipping was around 1,020 bucks.
the sony point and shoot i have is a dsc-p2. it's only 2mpx, but it can take some nice pictures and is pretty compact. it's a sweet little camera.
