I love TSL, and SILYMI is an excellent album; however, as far as the writing on the two of these is concerned, Dog Problems takes the cake. That isn't to say that SILYMI isn't amazing. Trust me, I love that CD. It's just that Dog Problems is a near-perfect pop album, where as SILYMI is a strong debut from a band who went on to do even better things. BOATS and Direction both dominate Dog Problems ten times out of ten.

Dog Problems is near perfect, but BOATS and Direction are great. Write an album better than BOATS and then get back to me. It needs to be more in-depth lyrically, catchier and more memorable musically, and overall just make me run and delete everything TSL's ever recorded out of my iTunes.

When that happens, you can talk. As it stands, The Format were an amazing band; TSL were a better band. Kenny's lyrics and vocals defined pop-punk for so many people; Nate and Sam wrote some excellent pop music, but never will they ever has as much import as TSL, nor will I ever value what they've done as highly.

I'd expect better from someone who likes Opeth. You DO like Incubus, though, so that MIGHT explain the douche dripping from your comment.

The first time I listened to Dog Problems I thought "what the fuck is this shit?" I forced myself to listen to it some more because I was going to see them in concert. I now find it to be one of the best albums I've ever heard. A hundred listens later, it just keeps getting better and better.
