I've been tinkering with an idea like this for a while. Basically the last four lines. It's nto even close to finished. It's a poem that I've been meaning to write but I haven't due to laziness. It would present a bunch of facts that would be contradictory and hypocritical.

The country with the most fruitful economy
Is also one with a six trillion dollar debt

But it's reflective of the people in it
With credit companies holding citizens by the throat

Success is measured by possessions yet,
The more "success" you have, the less happy you are

Beauty is what everyone strives for
Yet the only way to achieve this is through ugly means

We live in a world where "the pen is mightier than the sword"
But we fights our wars with weapons and not words

Hypocritical it may be to claim these thoughts original
When it's all been said before

"We live in a world where "the pen is mightier than the sword"
But we fights our wars with weapons and not words!" was good. everything else pretty much sucked. Sounds like a billion rap songs. (kanye west, mos def, talib kweli-ish)
