Ok, I'm posting 7 songs here because combined they tell the story of a break up, starting a few days before the event, through the sorrow that follows, and finally to the bitterness. They are all very emo, and some are obviously poppy, so if you are to "cool" for that, save yourself some time and stop reading now. Some are very long, be warned. Also, telling me it's "good" or "it sucks" is ok, but telling me what to change or add would be more useful. Thanks.

1.You Kill Me

This is the hardest thing I have ever dealt with in my life.
And honestly, I don't think I'm dealing with this at all.
I love you more than anyone.
I love you more than anything.
You give me life when you speak.
Everything you say is poetry.
But we don't talk so much anymore.
The song of your voice is caught in my head.

You tear at the heartstrings girl.
You turned this angel into an addict.
And let me tell you, you are the ultimate drug.
Your touch is an adrenaline rush.
Your voice soothes.
Your absence brings me down.

You kill me when you're silent.
And I die hundreds of times a day.
Your words are daggers.
And quiet is the killer.
The syllables dance in my head,
Tearing at me long after you are gone.
So hold your tongue with reservation,
Before you are held in contempt of this relationship.
So let me make this obvious,
I am yours, and I wish that you were mine.

2.St. Valentine’s Day (Massacre)
Uh oh, please don't... I don't know.
What's going on here?
What's going on with you?
I'm waiting for a phone call,
But there must be a break in the line.
Cuz I know, I've been waiting for so long,
And we're running out of time.
So if you must, send me a letter,
You know where I'll be.

I'm chasing after nothing that I thought was something.
And I'll be running ‘til I die.
I could say that I saw all this coming, but that would be a lie.

So slow, I know.
But I swear I'm catching on.
Here’s the formula, and correct me if I'm wrong;
When you say the words "I love you",
You really mean "I can't wait to break you".
I feel sorry for anyone that hasn't figured you out.
So no, I don't think so.
And you might be the only one that does.
You're not forever baby, but you could have been.
(In me)

I'm chasing after nothing that I thought was something.
And I'll be running ‘til I die.
I could say that I saw all this coming, but that would be a lie.

I'm chasing after nothing that I thought was something.
And I'll be running ‘til I die.
I could say that I saw all this coming, but that would be a lie.

3.Yeah... I've Got Nothing
Yes yes, this song is about you.
You're thinking it, and you're right.
It's not so hard to figure out,
If not you, then who?
If you know the answer then,
Please, please, I'm begging you to tell me,
Because, I for one would like to know.
I sure would like to know...

Oh babe, I know this comes easy
I know it does for you
I know this comes easy
At least it does for you

Sure sure, there is this hostility,
But it must be sympathy that’s keeping us apart.
I know you think you've got bad...
But trust me baby, you're alright.
I'm all choked up with memories.
I hear it's the most painful way to die.

Oh babe, I know this comes easy
I know it does for you
I know this comes easy
At least it does for you.

4.The Chemistry of Love
So... so... I'm at a loss for words.
So hello baby, I think just maybe,
We might just have something here.
Hello, I don’t believe we’ve met.
I’m Young, and from the looks of you, you must be In Love.
Let me take the time to get to know you, because time is all I got.
I could dance around this subject for days or for eternity,
but I'll just lay it all out for you now.
I think I'm falling for you girl, and I just wanted to let you know.
So strange so soft so beautiful
I can't wait to see how you break my heart.

So slow, the time it breaks us down.
I know, I know... trust me I've been there a thousand times.
Don’t bring me back there now.
So what’s the distance we’re talking here?
There’s always some uncertainty in your momentum and position.
Go on radiate me.
Go ahead, I'm gentle, but I fear deep down I'm something awful.
But aren't we all?
I’m still here ready and waiting,
But the clock is running out of sympathy.
You wouldn’t know me if you saw me,
I’m all over, it’s quantum, baby.
Well it’s just a theory anyway…

I could never let you down, I could never let you…
(When will you come around?)
I could never let you down
(Come come around)
Come on, come on let me down.

Uh oh, you know… people aren’t meant to last.
We’re on the edge of a breakdown,
But at least we’ve got the best seats.
I hear people pay good money for this kind of thing.
Well it’s not like I blame you, at least not entirely.
I can see my mistakes for what they are,
But I stay bitter nonetheless.
This is ego all the way.
That’s right, don’t bother working this thing out.
We’re all just the same matter anyway…

I could never let you down, I could never let you…
(When will you come around?)
I could never let you down
(Come come around)
Come on and let me down.
(And I won’t come down)

5. An Honest Misrepresentation of the "Truth"
You're so loving, you hold me like a cell.
Yeah you were great and all, but let’s not underestimate what I was either.
You spew lies from that pretty little mouth of yours.
Your voice makes such a great disguise.
Well sweetheart, I understand you now.
At least I think I do.
You could never know me as well as I know you.

You're stuck in "let's pretend".
Forever.
You're out awful late Princess; every night the clock strikes 12
You lose your glory with me.
You still won't be home for hours.
(And hours and hours. And hours and hours.)
You better get it together. Get in control. (Get it together)
He doesn't want you and you’re too blind to see.
You don't want him, but he takes your mind off me.
You live in fiction, you hide in fantasy.
But darling, every princess grows up to be a queen.

I'll be.
Waiting.
Here for just awhile more.
I hope.
You see.
Just what you left me for.

6.This Online Shit is too 21st Century
Well it's not like you ever knew,
But then I could never tell you...
Make me up something ordinary,
Build up verbs and create the stories,
Of things we never did.

Leave me here to wonder what exactly
It is that I did wrong.
I swear I'll go forever
Just to get these answers.
They are worth much more to me.

(Build up verbs to create the stories)
It's something beautiful...
(But lets make it up something ordinary)
But I'll never share.
(Build up verbs to create the stories)
(Make it up something ordinary)
(Build up verbs to create the stories)
Girl, we were extraordinary.

I'm glad that you regret it,
Because it only gets worse.
Just don't ever think that I'll forget it.
I mean, come on...
Who better than me?
I mean come on...

But then, I could never tell you
(All of the things...)
But then, I could never tell you
(Anything...)
But then, I could never tell you
(All of the things...)
But then, I could never tell you
(Anything...)
But then, I could never tell you
(All of the things...)
But then, I could never tell you ANYTHING!

I swear to God I'm changing
Whether I like it or not.
Change with me, come on, come on...
The difference is noticeable,
But I guess you can still deny it.
Open up and see, come on, come on...

If this is truth then I pick dare.
I'd rather opt out of childs games,
But if I'm not given the choice,
Then I swear I'll make you lose.
I mean come on... pathetic.

7. Ctrl Alt Del, Repeat
Hey lover this isn't over.
It's going to be hell
So run for cover.
With every single second
We're getting older.
Lets take this time to mature
Or at least get sober.

Hey it's the weekend,
Time for the chemicals
And late night calls.
I hear getting fucked up
Is the newest trend
So let's get trendy
And play "let's pretend".

Irony is...
Growing up
While you're
Throwing up.

Hey it's the weekend,
Time for the chemicals
And late night calls.
I hear getting fucked up
Is the newest trend
So let's get trendy
And play "let's pretend".

Irony is...

Every single night
You're wasting away
Every single moment
I'm wasting my day.
All this serves is
To get me more frustrated.
I refuse to go down
Doing everything that I hated.

You never cared much for the advice of another
At heart you were always more of a lush than a lover
You never cared much for
(Gave it up for me)
The advice of another.
(Giving up on me)
I really hope that this is over
(Enough for me)
Before we are another year older.
(Enough of me)

You tried to break up
But I only broke down.
Now everytime I need you
You are never around.
And everytime I need to cry
I go and look for your shoulder.
But the only thing I ever find
Is that you've grown colder.
And if I sound bitter
Then it's for the better.

It isn't so cool
(This isn't social)
You think you're so cool.
(This isn't highschool)
It isn't so cool
(It is in highschool)
And I'm not so sure.
(Sure... just forget it, haha)
Haha...

Hey it's the weekend,
Time for the chemicals
And late night calls.
I hear getting fucked up
Is the newest trend
So let's get trendy
And play "let's pretend".

Irony is...
Growing up
While you're
Throwing up.

Hey it's the weekend,
Time for the chemicals
And late night calls.
I hear getting fucked up
Is the newest trend.
But I'd rather talk this over
Than play "let's pretend".

You are just insanely Emo.

whatever.. how could someone be insanely emo? like insanity and emo are two different things, that dont match up well together. its like me saying omg you are beautifully wrong! err ok!

insanely is an adverb describing how emo you are...as in...you are very emo...not as in.. you are insane and emo.

There were honestly no weak songs there, although there were a few lines that didn't quite flow. They were VERY emo, but they were all awesome nonetheless.

Not bad, its gutsy to post your stuff on here, I'd imagine there's tons of people who'd just love to rip it apart. But I liked your stuff. Had difficulty sort of thinking of a rhythm for some of them, or like how some of the lines would flow. The words and the thoughts are there, they're good. If you are able to work them with a beat and actually make them song lyrics then good stuff.

Thanks, that really means alot. And yeah, I did have trouble piecing some lines together so they flow, but I have the majority of it worked out now. I'm hoping to get some mp3's eventually so everyone can really see how these songs go.

Dude, some sweet stuff. At first I thought you used "Babe" and "Girl" way too much but after reading them all it left an impression as a certain style. Anyways, yeah join a band because if you don't it's a waste. I write for my band Mercutio but yeah, good stuff dude. Can you sing though?? Here's a little sample of one of my songs, maybe we could colaborate sometime or somthing

-From our song, December Nights and Fist Fights
"Her eyes scream of lost innocence,
glowing cheeks means taking deaper breaths, oh, she's a pacifist with lonly
lips, watch with a grin as she loses her grip"

-From our song, The Streetlight Effect
"Her trademark, is her halo chisled out by her own shadow
camoflauged her decline, for the time of her life
you can't paint a portrait of somthing that was never there
you could talk the devil into setting himself on fire"

let me kow if your interested

Yeah dude, those are awesome. I'd definately collaborate with you. I've been trying to get a band started for a while, it's hard to find people that are both talented and have time to devote to writing and practicing though.

And as for the "babe" and "girl" thing, I'm glad you noticed. Those, along with several other words were over-used deliberately to tie the songs together. So, come (on), princess, pretend, and a few others were all used in excess on these songs. Just to show they are all from the same period of time, about the same thing, same frame of mind, ect.

good stuff man, i always encourage creative writing from anyone's perspective. i do think, however, that you definitely are from the TBS/Brand New school of lyricism, all the 'babes' and such are cool, but i can see quite a few references to lyrics from both those bands (eg 'it's the weekend' and 'it isn't high school'). i don't know if these are intentional, and i'm not even saying these are wrong, cos sometimes it's great to pastiche other wrtiers, but be careful you don't over-do it. still pretty good stuff, i think it might sound better if i heard the music to it, though.

Yeah, I notice the influences those bands have had on my writing too. I try to stay away from that as much as possible, but sometimes it's really hard, especially when the situations are very similar, to not use similar words and phrases. I'd really like to get some recordings of the songs together to post, but getting a solid band going at the moment has been kind of an ordeal (finding a drummer with an actual drum kit living in a dorm is impossible). I really appreciate your input, I'd love to see more like it. I myself have worried about coming off as a copycat act to Taking Back Sunday.

Ditto. A few lines I could relate to like "Here’s the formula, and correct me if I'm wrong; When you say the words "I love you", You really mean "I can't wait to break you". " I really like your choice of words and your songs all have interesting meanings. I hope to hear your mp3s, your lyrics are amazing.
